The bathtub generally has a wall having a translucent inner layer defining a cavity for receiving water. The bathtub has at least one translucent outer reinforcement member which is secured to a portion of the translucent inner layer, thus forming at least one window with the corresponding portion of the translucent inner layer. The bathtub has a corresponding light source which faces the translucent outer reinforcement member for lighting through the window, into the cavity. The wall further has an outer reinforcement layer covering the translucent inner layer around the at least one window.

A comfort bathtub has at least one heated wall portion which is comprised by a composite pliable heat generating envelope integrated with the wall portion. The heat generating envelope has a heated mesh sandwiched between a pair of protection film sheets bonded together about the heated mesh to isolate the heated mesh from molded material of the bathtub. The composite pliable envelope has electrical connections secured to a power supply. A temperature sensor is in communication with the envelope for sensing the temperature thereof. A voltage regulator controls the power supply through a control circuit to regulate the heat generated by the heated mesh. The composite pliable envelope is configured to heat a discrete wall portion of the bathtub to provide a discrete external heated surface of the bathtub.

An air injection system for a hydro-massaging bath is described. An air convecting conduit is in communication with a plurality of injecting orifices formed in a peripheral wall of the bath. An air blower injects air under pressure in an entry opening of the air convecting conduit. A water spray injector is located downstream of the entry opening and upstream of the air injecting orifices to inject a spray of a predetermined volume of water in the injected air under pressure. A water supply conduit is connected to the water spray injector and has a flow regulating valve to regulate the volume of water spray injected in the heated air to saturate the air with water. A shut-off valve is provided in the water supply conduit, and a heater is disposed in the air convecting conduit downstream of the water spray injector and upstream of the air injecting orifices wherein heated, humidified air injected in the water contained within the bathtub does not produce a cool sensation on the body of a user person.

A hydro massage bathtub enclosure is provided with conduits interconnecting air jet holes provided in the sidewalls, end or bottom wall of the bathtub enclosure. One or more curved cavities are disposed below one or more of the air jet holes to create a turbulent air flow in the area of the curved cavity whereby to expel any residual water accumulated in the curved cavity after the water level in the bathtub enclosure has been lowered below the air jet holes with the conduit pressurized by air from the blower to purge the conduit. A water evacuating conduit may also be connected in such cavities for the evacuation of residual water therefrom.
