Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) performs a plurality of positioning measurements of a corresponding plurality of positioning reference signal (PRS) resources within a measurement window, wherein the measurement window spans at least one system frame number (SFN) rollover, and transmits, to a location server, at least one measurement report associated with the measurement window, the at least one measurement report including a plurality of timestamp information elements corresponding to the plurality of positioning measurements, wherein at least one timestamp information element of the plurality of timestamp information elements indicates the at least one SFN rollover.

Measurement reporting enhancements in batch mode reporting

Positioning of a UE is supported in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Inactive state. The UE receives a request for periodic or triggered location and enters the RRC Inactive state. When an event is detected, the UE sends an RRC Resume Request to a gNB that includes an indication of the event. The indication may be an event report that may include downlink positioning measurements. The gNB forwards the event report to a location server, and may later receive and return an event report acknowledgement to the UE in an RRC Release. The indication may instead trigger uplink positioning, with the base station sending an uplink Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) configuration to the UE in an RRC Release, causing the UE to transmit uplink SRS signals to be measured by gNBs. For uplink related position methods like RTT, the gNB can receive both types of indication.

Method and apparatus for location of a user equipment in an inactive state

Disclosed are techniques related to wireless communication system in which a network node (e.g., a base station, gNB, etc.) may be allowed to puncture a reference signal (RS) to deliver high priority data (e.g., URLLC data) to a user equipment (UE) that is not currently being served by the network node. The RS may comprise a puncturable subset and an unpuncturable subset. The puncturable subset may comprise resources of the RS that are allowed to be punctured, and the unpuncturable subset may comprise resources of the RS that are prohibited from being punctured. The network node may transmit the RS such that unpuncturable subset indicates whether or not the puncturable subset of the RS has or has not been punctured.

Disclosed are techniques for determining round-trip times (RTTs) between a user equipment (UE) and multiple base stations. In an aspect, the UE transmits an RTT measurement signal whose arrival time is measured by each of the base stations, and each of the base stations returns an RTT response signal whose arrival times are measured by the UE. In another aspect, the base stations each transmit an RTT measurement signal and the UE returns an RTT response signal. The receiver of the RTT measurement signal may include the measured arrival time in a payload of the RTT Response signal. Alternatively, the measured arrival time(s) of the RTT Measurement signal(s) and the transmission time(s) of the RTT Response signal(s) are sent in a separate message. The RTT signals can be wideband signals using low reuse resources.

Systems and methods for multiple round trip time (RTT) estimation in wireless networks

In an aspect, a communications device obtains a residual AoA bias associated with a first AoA measurement of a RS-P transmitted from a wireless reference node to a first base station, the wireless reference node associated with a location known to the communications device, obtains a second AoA measurement associated with an uplink signal (e.g., PRACH, SRS, UL-SRS-P, etc.) transmitted from a UE to the first base station, and calibrates the second AoA measurement based on the residual AoA bias. In another aspect, a communications device obtains a residual AoD bias associated with a first AoD measurement of a RS-P transmitted from a first base station to a wireless reference node with a known location, obtains a second AoD measurement associated with a downlink signal (e.g., DL-PRS) transmitted from the first base station to a UE, and calibrates the second AoD measurement based on the residual AoD bias.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network entity, a configuration of one or more positioning reference signal (PRS) resources to measure during a positioning session, the one or more PRS resources having a PRS periodicity Tand a PRS occasion length L, and measures the one or more PRS resources during a measurement period, wherein the measurement period is based on a number of measurement instances of the one or more PRS resources the UE is expected to process multiplied by a periodicity parameter, wherein the periodicity parameter is based on a PRS processing window of 'T' milliseconds, the PRS periodicity T, and a measurement gap periodicity of at least one measurement gap.

Reporting granularity and measurement period for positioning reference signal (PRS) measurements

Aspects presented herein may enhance the accuracy and/or latency of UE positioning based on crowd-sourcing, where a network entity may compute a position estimate of a UE based on neighbor-cell scan data from the UE and one or more reference UEs. In one aspect, a network entity receives a first set of measurements associated with at least one cell from a UE. The network entity performs a position estimation of the UE based on at least one of the first set of measurements associated with the at least one cell, a second set of measurements for each of a set of reference UEs, or a location of each of the set of reference UEs via an ML model, where the UE and the set of reference UEs include at least one common cell.

Methods, systems, and devices for transmit power control for positioning using non-serving cells are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that an uplink reference signal may be associated with a positioning procedure. In some cases, the positioning procedure may include transmission, by the UE, of the reference signal to a non-serving cell, which may be farther away from the UE than a serving cell. The UE may determine an absence of a parameter associated with a transmit power for transmitting the reference signal. Based on the absence, the UE may determine the transmit power based on parameters received from a serving cell, based on configuration information, based on a message intercepted from the cell other than the serving cell, or based on other considerations or information.

Transmit power control for positioning using non-serving cells

A user equipment (UE) receives reference signal resource configuration for transmitting reference signals for positioning from, e.g., a location server. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a positioning reference signal configuration of a base station. The UE may determine, based on the positioning reference signal configuration, a reference point within a carrier bandwidth of a component carrier and a frequency domain allocation for a positioning reference signal relative to the reference point. The UE may transmit the positioning reference signal or measure the positioning reference signal based on the frequency domain allocation.
