An overload protection system includes a panelboard and a load management system (LMS) which is configured to constantly measure the total amount of power being used at the panelboard such that when the total amount of energy measured is at or above a high programmed level, the LMS stops power from being supplied to a load and when the total amount of energy measured is at or below a low programmed level, the LMS allows power to be supplied to the load. The LMS includes a monitoring relay with a 'threshold hysteresis' built-in, which means that a threshold current at which an output switches from one state to another state is different depending on whether an input current is increasing or decreasing. The “threshold hysteresis” helps to eliminate noise and ensure that the output switches cleanly between ON and OFF, even if an input current level is fluctuating around a threshold current level.

A main feed thru unit configured as a service equipment or a main service disconnect is provided for distributing power in modular metering mains. The main feed thru unit comprises an enclosure having a back side, a first side, a second side, a top side and a bottom side and a bus assembly. The bus assembly includes a feed thru bus assembly including a plurality of feed thru bus bars configured to receive line power at feed line terminals and pass thru power to feed thru terminals, a cross bus assembly including a plurality of cross bus bars extending between the first side and the second side and a main breaker coupled between the feed line terminals and the plurality of cross bus bars to feed power thru and output power via the plurality of cross bus bars. The enclosure is configured to allow electrical connection to the plurality of cross bus bars through an opening in at least one of the first side and the second side.

A bracket comprises a first bracket configured to hold-down an assembly in place and release the assembly when the assembly is to be removed. The assembly has first and/or second holes. The first bracket includes a first arm and a second arm. The first arm has a first major flat surface with a first hole that is configured to receive a first fastener. The first arm has a first end and a second end. The second arm is coupled to the second end of the first arm. The second arm has a first opening that is configured to receive a tool to bend the second arm for deforming the first bracket in a way that releases the assembly. The second arm has a second major flat surface disposed transverse to the first major flat surface of the first arm. The second arm has a first end and a second end. The second end of the second arm has a first nail feature to be inserted into one of the first and/or second holes of the assembly to hold-down the assembly in place.

A ventilation cover for an electrical enclosure having an aperture that includes a peripheral edge. The cover includes an inner shell having a plurality of inner slots, wherein each inner slot is separated from another inner slot by an inner wall portion. The cover also includes an outer shell for receiving the inner shell, wherein the outer shell includes a plurality of outer slots and each outer slot is aligned with an associated inner wall portion wherein each inner wall portion is adapted to divert water which enters an outer slot. In addition, the cover includes a lip formed around the peripheral edge for inhibiting the flow of water into the aperture.

The terminal barrier comprises a flexible portion that is configured to flexibly bend away from a rest position after the terminal barrier is installed. The terminal barrier further comprises a wall portion configured to surround the electrical terminal to block any access to the electrical terminal from one or more sides except an access for installation of a service line wire in the electrical terminal. The terminal barrier further comprises a snap portion for snapping in place around the electrical terminal to removably attach the terminal barrier to the housing of the electrical switching apparatus.

The present invention relates generally to outdoor enclosures. More particularly, the invention encompasses passive ventilation for an outdoor electrical enclosure. The present invention is also directed to a novel passive ventilation apparatus that is secured to an outdoor electrical enclosure. The novel passive ventilation apparatus has at least one vent or opening or gap to allow for the ventilation of air, moisture, humidity, and other fluids from an outdoor electrical enclosure. The outdoor electrical enclosure also has at least one venting means to vent air, moisture, humidity, or other fluids from inside the outdoor electrical enclosure. The outdoor electrical enclosure also has at least one means to prevent any debris from falling inside the outdoor electrical enclosure.

Passive ventilation for outdoor electrical enclosures

A circuit breaker is configured to provide both AC and DC protected power. The circuit breaker is packaged in a housing that includes a tripping module, a DC power supply, an AC load terminal, and a DC load terminal. The tripping module senses and responds to electrical faults by interrupting power, and the DC power supply converts received AC power to DC power. In some embodiments, the circuit breaker may be configured as a main breaker of a circuit breaker panel, while in other embodiments the circuit breaker may be configured as a branch circuit breaker that occupies a single branch circuit breaker mounting location in a circuit breaker panel. Methods of assembling a circuit breaker are also provided, as are other aspects.

Combined circuit breaker and DC power supply apparatus, systems, and methods

A device for disconnecting electrical power from a first stack of meter modules, wherein the power is supplied by a main box that also supplies power to a second stack of meter modules. The device includes an incoming bus section for receiving power from the main box and an outgoing bus section for feeding power to the first stack of modules. In addition, the device includes a cross bus device connected to the incoming and outgoing bus sections and a circuit breaker connected to the cross bus device. When the circuit breaker is closed, power is supplied to the first and second stacks of modules. When the circuit breaker is opened, power to the first stack of modules is disconnected while power to the second stack of modules is maintained.

A base pan assembly for connecting to conductors and an electrical device. The base pan assembly includes a base pan element having walls for isolating each conductor. The base pan assembly also includes a stab element associated with each conductor wherein the stab element includes first and second portions formed in a substantially L shaped configuration. The first portion is adapted to be connected to the electrical device and the second portion is fastened to the base pan element. An end of the second portion is positioned between a pair of ribs. A fastening element is associated with each stab element, wherein the fastening element includes a post extending from the base pan element which is received by an aperture in the second portion. Further, the base pan assembly includes a lug associated with each conductor, wherein the lug receives the second portion and the associated conductor.

The present invention relates generally to a lever bypass plug-in meter socket. More particularly, the invention encompasses a lever bypass plug-in meter socket for electric watt-hour meters. The present invention is also directed to a novel plug-in meter socket for electrical watt-hour meter with a quick bypass. A lever may be used to rotate a bypass blade to short selected contacts through the blade when the watt-hour meter needs to be changed or tested.

The present invention relates generally to a lay-in lug nut plate retainer. More particularly, the invention encompasses a nut plate retainer for a lay-in lug assembly nut plate. The present invention is also directed to a novel lay-in nut plate retainer which provides an alternative way to secure a nut plate to a lay-in lug body during shipping and/or the installation process. The inventive nut plate retainer has a cover with an open area and at least two legs to surround a portion of the lay-in lug and the nut plate.
