A method of performing channel estimation for a radio channel between a transmitter and a receiver of a radio access network, RAN comprises the step of performing an initial channel estimation () of the radio channel for each of a plurality of frequency ranges (), based on a radio signal received on the radio channel from the transmitter, the radio signal comprising a signal sequence () out of the set of signal sequences () in each of the frequency ranges (), to obtain an initial channel estimate () for each frequency range (), and applying a filter () to the initial channel estimates () for the frequency ranges (), a length () of the filter () in the frequency domain being greater than lengths of the frequency ranges (), to obtain a filtered channel estimate () for all subcarriers () in the respective one of the frequency ranges ().

Channel estimation technique

There is disclosed a method of operating a receiving radio node in a wireless communication network, the method including performing channel estimation based on received signaling, the channel estimation providing a channel estimate value for each subcarrier of a set of subcarriers. The received signaling covers a number NPRB of Physical Resource Blocks, PRB, in frequency domain, each PRB having a number NSC of subcarriers. The set of subcarriers has a number NSUB of subsets of subcarriers, subcarriers of the same subset being associated to the same PRB of the number NPRB of PRBs. The channel estimation associates different channel estimate values to different subcarriers of one or more of the NSUB subsets. The disclosure also pertains to related devices and methods.

Channel estimation for wireless communication network

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for intra-symbol Orthogonal Cover Code (OCC) mapping for transmissions such as, e.g., New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmissions. In this regard, embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device and corresponding embodiments of a wireless device are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises selecting a repetition mapping for In-Phase/Quadrature-Phase (I/Q) symbol repetitions within an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) or Discrete Fourier Transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) symbol of an uplink transmission. The I/Q symbol repetitions are for application of an intra data symbol OCC to the I/Q symbol repetitions. The method further comprises transmitting an uplink transmission using the selected repetition mapping. In this manner, performance is improved. Embodiments of a method of operation of a base station and corresponding embodiments of a base station are also disclosed.

Intra-symbol OCC mapping for transmissions such as NR-U PUCCH transmissions

A user equipment (UE) transmits an SR to a network node using a first transmission duration a particular number of times. The UE then determines a longer transmission duration for transmitting a further SR based on determining that no response has been received from the network node in response to any of the particular number of times the SR was transmitted. The UE transmits a further SR to the network node using the longer transmission duration.

Scheduling request handling with multiple configured TTIs

A method, wireless device, and network node for increasing the capacity on a control channel when using Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) of data and DMRS are disclosed. According to one aspect, a wireless device (WD) is configured to perform intra-symbol frequency division multiplexing of data subcarriers and demodulation reference signal, DMRS, subcarriers. The WD is also configured to apply intra-symbol orthogonal cover codes, OCCs, to the data subcarriers. The WD is further configured to apply intra-symbol cyclic shifts to the DMRS subcarriers.

A method by a communication device for supporting a random access procedure in a wireless communication network. The communication device provides an indicator for indicating a presence of an initial access request by the communication device. The initial access request is part of the random access procedure. The indicator comprises a pre-defined synchronization sequence, wherein one of: the indicator comprises a first access burst extending over one time slot, wherein the first access burst comprises the pre-defined synchronization sequence, which is longer than 41 bits, and the indicator comprises a second access burst extending over two time slots, the second access burst comprising the pre-defined synchronization sequence, which is longer than 88 bits. The communication device transmits the indicator on a random access channel in uplink to a network node. The indicator indicates the presence to the network node of the initial access request.

Methods and arrangements for supporting a random access procedure

Techniques for improved scheduling request (SR) operation using one or more short transmission time intervals (sTTIs) () are presented to ensure both short latency and improved wireless coverage for user equipment (UE) (). In particular, a method () performed by a UE () for managing SR transmissions to a network node () is presented. The method can include determining () a value indicative of network coverage conditions, and based on the value indicative of network coverage conditions, determining (1004) a transmission duration () for transmitting one or more SRs (). Systems and methods for performing power control of a physical channel in a communication system are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method in a wireless device of performing power control of a physical channel in a wireless communication system may include determining a transmission power for a transmission on the physical channel according to a power control loop. Further, the loop may specify the transmission power based on at least one parameter. Also, a value of the at least one parameter may be dependent on which of different transmission time interval (TTI) lengths defined as usable on the physical channel is selected for the transmission on the physical channel.

Systems and methods of performing power control of a physical channel in a communication system

A method implemented in a terminal device in a wireless communication system. According to the method, a random access request including a training sequence is generated. The training sequence is configured based on a requirement of a coverage gain for a predetermined coverage class five (CC5) of the terminal device and configured based on an interference between a random access channel and one or more further random access channels. The random access request is transmitted to a network device on the random access channel.

Methods and apparatuses for random access

Certain embodiments relate to a method for use in a wireless device. The method comprises distributing uplink power among parallel transmissions that the wireless device has scheduled during a subframe on two or more uplink physical channels. The parallel transmissions comprise one or more short transmission time interval, sTTI, transmissions, and the UL power is distributed according to at least one prioritization rule. According to one of the prioritization rules, sTTI transmissions comprising control information are prioritized over sTTI transmissions comprising data without any control information. According to another of the prioritization rules, transmissions with shorter transmission time intervals are prioritized over transmissions with longer transmission time intervals.

A sending node sends information to a receiving node. Said nodes are comprised in a wireless communication network. Communication between said nodes is associated with a first cell. The sending node obtains predefined scrambling for scrambling the information and which predefined scrambling is specific for the first cell. The receiving node correspondingly obtains de-scrambling. The sending node sends, to the receiving node, the information repeatedly a certain number of times, wherein each time the information is sent it is scrambled differently based on the obtained scrambling. Each time the information is received by the receiving node it is de-scrambled differently based on the obtained de-scrambling.
