So that a drive () can be formed in the case of a standing parasol () having a mast () and a collapsible parasol canopy with canopy and support struts (), in which the canopy struts () and the support struts () are respectively connected to an upper or a lower articulation ring (), and in which the upper articulation ring () is connected to a telescopic tube () which is guided in the mast () and can be raised and lowered and the telescopic tube () for raising and lowering is connected to a circulating member (), it is proposed that the circulating member () may be actuated by way of an upper deflection roller () and a drive gear () that is arranged on the mast (), and that the upper deflection roller () is arranged on a deflection support by means of a deflection roller bearing (), the deflection support being secured to the mast and projecting into the telescopic tube ().

Standing parasol

The free-arm canopy comprises a mast (), on which an extendable and retractable jib () is arranged, with a transverse fitting () at the end thereof on which a canopy () is arranged on a canopy pole () by means of a joint (). The canopy () comprises a slider (), connected in a jointed fashion to top ribs () by means of support ribs () which are further jointed to a crown () connected to the canopy pole (), wherein the canopy () may be opened and closed by means of a tensile line () connected to the slider () and displacing the canopy pole () against the fitting () and thus locking the joint () on opening. According to the invention, the free-arm canopy may be improved, whereby the crown () of the canopy () is arranged on the upper end of a pole piece () in the form of a sleeve which may be displaced over the fitting () such that with an open canopy () the crown () goes over the joint () and is at least almost in contact with the jib ().

Free-arm canopy

The invention relates to an extension arm () that is arranged on a carrier () in such a way that it can pivot about the axis () thereof by means of a steering rod (), and can be blocked in the pivoted position. Said steering rod () is arranged on a sleeve () that can be pivoted about the extension arm (), can engage with the extension arm in different rotational angle positions, and can be directly or indirectly blocked on the carrier. According to the invention, a first coupling part () fixed to the extension arm () co-operates with a second coupling part () arranged on the sleeve () and acting in the axial direction. Furthermore, the steering rod () comprises a supporting element () that co-operates with a counterpart () arranged on the extension arm (), in order to displace the second coupling part () in the axial direction by means of the steering rod (). In this way, the extension arm can be pivoted and blocked in a simple manner with one hand.

Disclosed is a winch, particularly for driving an umbrella, comprising a rope drum () which is driven by a hand crank () and winds up a rope (). Functioning of the winch is improved by the fact that said winch is provided with a feeler () which responds to the direction of entry of the rope when the rope () is fully unwound or to the winding of the rope onto the rope drum (). Said feeler () is connected to a locking member () that cooperates with a stop () if winding occurs in the wrong direction, said stop () being assigned to the rope drum () and locking the wrong winding direction.

Winch, particularly for driving an umbrella

Umbrella shaft for a hanging umbrella, having a shaft part () and a rope drive (), which connects a slide () and a crown () of the umbrella, the slide and the shaft part being coupled axially to one another when the umbrella is open. In order to improve the operability, the rope drive is designed as a rope winch () which can be connected to the slide (), the rope () running essentially coaxially with the axis of the umbrella shaft.

Disclosed is an adjustable static umbrella with a static mast (,) to which an arm (,) is secured by means of a hinge (,) allowing for the arm to be either adjusted into a use position or collapsed into a rest position and to be tipped about the hinge (,) tilting axle (,) perpendicular to the mast axis. The hinge (,) has toggle head (,) and a pair of shells (,) symmetrically inverted one to each other, encompassing the toggle head (,) therein and rotatably mounted about the tilting axle (,), while the pair of hinge shells (,) is provided with a length guide perpendicular to the tilting axle (,), in which the arm (,) is inserted. A locking device (,) includes a tilting hinge (,) parallel to the tilting axle (,) and a fastening device (,) allowing for the hinge shells to be pressed one against the other and against the toggle head (,) so that, when said fastening device in the length guide (,) is pulled, the arm cannot be displaced, while the hinge shells (,) encompassing the toggle head cannot be twisted due to pairs of interactive contact surfaces. Releasing the locking device (,) loosens the arm (,) length guide (,), thereby enabling adjustment of the arm, in the area of a tilt angle (&agr;) limited by two end-stops (,), between a rest position and a use position.

Standing umbrella

A suspension umbrella has a crown connected to a holder by means of a ball joint. For arresting the ball joint in different positions the ball joint is equipped with an arresting body which is actuatable by means of a screw spindle arranged coaxially to the umbrella axis. A securing device includes a securing screw which is threaded into the crown through a bore in a sleeve in order to prevent relative movement between the crown and the sleeve or ball joint.
