A fuel quality sensor can include a pump with a suction side and a pressure side for pumping fuel along a fuel flow path between an underground reservoir and a nozzle of a fuel dispensing unit; a first transmitter disposed at the suction side of the pump on a first side of a bypass plenum in fluid communication with the fuel flow path, the first transmitter configured to transmit a first light signal at a first predetermined frequency in the bypass plenum; a receiver disposed at the suction side of the pump on a second side of the bypass plenum and configured to receive the first light signal; and a control unit electrically connected to the first transmitter and the receiver and configured to determine at least one parameter of the fuel present in the fuel flow path based on the received first light signal at the first predetermined frequency.

Method for controlling a linear pump () of a vapour recovery system in a fuel dispensing unit (). The linear pump () is flow controlled by a signal. The method comprises applying (SI) a known voltage to a solenoid coil () of the linear pump () for a predetermined time period, measuring (S) a current consumption of the solenoid coil () during the predetermined time period, and adjusting (S) the signal based on the measured current consumption. The invention also relates to a vapour recovery system for recovering vapour from a motor vehicle tank via a fuel dispensing nozzle () to a vapour tank.

The invention relates to a method for controlling a linear pump of a vapour recovery system in a fuel dispensing unit. The linear pump is flow controlled by a signal. The method comprises applying a known voltage to a solenoid coil of the linear pump for a predetermined time period, measuring a current consumption of the solenoid coil during the predetermined time period, and adjusting the signal based on the measured current consumption. The invention also relates to a vapour recovery system for recovering vapour from a motor vehicle tank via a fuel dispensing nozzle to a vapour tank.

In general, transparent fuel dispensers are provided, and in particular methods and devices are provided for increasing visibility on a fuel dispensing device. In one embodiment a fuel dispenser is provided having a display that is at least partially transparent at least during certain modes of operation. The display can display information on portions thereof during certain modes of operation as well.

Various fluid dispensing units having a defrosting system and methods for using the same are provided. In general, a fluid dispensing unit configured to dispense fluid such as AUS32 therefrom is configured to circulate the fluid when the fluid dispensing unit is not in use, e.g., is not dispensing the fluid, to help prevent the fluid from freezing or beginning to crystallize. In the event that the fluid freezes or begins to crystallize, such as due to a power failure that prevents the fluid from circulating, the fluid dispensing unit has a defrosting system configured to heat the frozen or crystallized fluid.

A locking device for adjustably locking two mutually movable parts with respect to each other, particularly for preventing an automobile seat from sliding longitudinally along the floor of an automobile. A stationary member is secured to the floor and is provided with teeth for cooperating with a toothed member which is secured to the automobile seat. The two sets of teeth are normally urged into engagement with each other by means of a spring member. For adjustment, the second part can be displaced at right angles to the floor in such manner that the two sets of teeth are disengaged, thereby permitting the seat to slide longitudinally with respect to the floor.

Locking device, particularly for automobile seats

A mechanism for adjusting the inclination of the seat backs of seats primarily for motor vehicles. The mechanism comprises two brackets, one connected to the base and the other connected to the seat back of a vehicle seat. Each bracket forms an integral structure and comprises a gear ring of internal teeth, said gear rings having the same diameters, with the number of teeth of the respective gear rings differing in number by a predetermined quantity. One or more gear wheels are movable in a planetary orbit inside the brackets and mesh with the teeth of the latter. Cover plates cover the teeth of said brackets and said gear wheel or wheels and mate with a corresponding recess or a corresponding raised portion, respectively. A shaft comprising the axis of rotation of the gear wheel penetrates the cover plates for making said plates rotative as a unit, with the two brackets being made rotative with respect to each other so that the seat back may be continuously adjusted with regard to the base portion of the seat.
