In embodiments, an application vehicle includes an application system for applying a product during an agricultural application. The application system (used in conjunction with the application vehicle) includes a priming module that determines a priming location. When the application vehicle is in proximity to the priming location, the priming module primes aspects of the application system so that it is ready to apply the product when the application vehicle reaches a region in which the product is to be applied.

Dynamic application system priming

A boom is attached to an application vehicle for applying a product during an agricultural application. The boom includes one or more sections that can be dynamically adjusted to satisfy one or more adjustment criteria. A boom controller communicates actuation commands to a boom adjustment system to dynamically adjust the shape of the boom.

Predictive boom shape adjustment

A spreader control system digitally filters noisy load cell measurements and inaccurate flow rate measurements to form an optimal estimate of material weight in a spreader bin. This estimate may be combined with spreader swath width and vehicle speed to determine application rate. Method and apparatus for cooperative diagnosis of impairments and mitigation of disturbers in communication systems

Events that occur in a number of in domain communication channels where each channel is used by a communication service, are detected. A Bayesian Belief Network (BBN) defines a probabilistic cause-effect relationship between each cause and each effect on a victim channel. The probability of each of a number of possible causes as being a cause of interference in the victim channel is determined, by propagating observations of the interference backwards through the BBN.

Design and architecture of an impairment diagnosis system for use in communications systems

A system for controlling the pressure in a chamber with a computer controlled exhaust throttle valve. A characterization relationship describes the static properties of the valve geometry, valve actuation mechanism and gas flow properties. This characterization relationship can comprise a theoretical or empirical function which associates a sufficient number of valve positions with the corresponding pressure, and may be parameterized by other auxiliary variables such as inlet gas flow values, gas types and compositions. An inverse relationship between the current measurable variables of the process, such as pressure, inlet flows and other auxiliary parameters is defined. A linearization method uses the inverse relationship to modify the effect of the valve positioning on the corresponding value of pressure in such a way that the combined behavior of the process and the linearization method yields a linear relationship between a new control variable and the pressure. A linear feedback control method then controls the modified, linearized system.

System and method for controlling pressure

To determine measurements such as basis weight and caliper of a travelling sheet during production, the sheet is repeatedly traversed with a scanning sensor and, during each traverse, measurements are taken at a plurality of slice locations. Then, a series of reference locations are selected which are spaced apart in the machine direction along the sheet surface. Then, for selected slices, measurement values are estimated based upon actual measurements taken at locations on the selected slices which are not spaced in the machine direction at the same spacing as reference locations.
