A system is provided that includes a portable electronic device and a customer care system. The customer care system is configured to remotely communicate with the portable electronic device. The customer care system is operable to receive an indication of content displayed on a display of the portable electronic device. The customer care system is operable to communicate a signal to the portable electronic device that the portable electronic device interprets as input to keys on the portable electronic device by a user of the portable electronic device.

Pseudo-remote terminal IOTA mobile diagnostics and electronic customer care

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) device is provided. The device has an architecture comprising a Bluetooth adaptation layer for wireless communication according to a Bluetooth convention, a MANET service layer, a scatternet module, a routing module, and a flow control manager in the MANET service layer. The scatternet module and the routing module are in communication with the MANET service layer. The MANET service layer is independent of the topology protocol of the scatternet module and independent of a routing rules of the routing module.

The method includes providing an application having an event module and a plurality of protocol modules. The method includes specifying whether the application will execute in either a high or low priority thread. The method also includes specifying whether high priority threads execute with one of an unblocking status and a best effort status, and specifying whether lower priority threads execute with one of a blocking status, the unblocking status, and the best effort status.

Application design framework for MANET over a short range communication protocol

Collaborative mobile ad hoc network infrastructure

A wireless communication device capable of downloading a software update file from a wireless network. The wireless communication device comprises a non-volatile memory that is re-programmed by sectors. The non-volatile memory stores: i) a target file to be updated, ii) the downloaded software update file, and iii) a journal comprising a plurality of entries, each of the entries containing status information associated with a re-programmed sector of the non-volatile memory. The wireless communication device also comprises a random access memory and a main processor that replaces target code in the target file with replacement code from the downloaded software update file. The main processor creates a first block of replacement code in the random access memory and re-programs a first target sector of the non-volatile memory by storing the first block of replacement code into the first target sector. The main processor updates first status information in a first entry in the journal associated with the first target sector.

Apparatus and method for performing a fail-safe over-the-air software update in a mobile station

The present disclosure relates generally to a system and method for a pseudo DLL linker. In one example, the method includes identifying a plurality of components forming an image and identifying all symbols exportable from each component and all symbols imported by each component from another component. A redirection mechanism is built containing an address of each symbol exported by a component that is imported by another component, and each component is modified to alter each direct reference to a symbol associated with another component to a reference to the redirection mechanism. A linker is called to link a final image based on the modified components.
