The UE may determine a transmission dropping rule, e.g., so that UE can transmit an uplink signals with higher priority and drop the other uplink signal with lower priority to avoid beam collisions. The UE may determine a transmission power scaling rule, e.g., so the UE may scale transmission power within a CC and/or across CCs. The UE may multiplex the PUCCH-BFR with the at least one other signal according to the rules.

A described technique includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from one or more Transmission and Reception Points (TRPs), a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission; determining, by the UE for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) carrying hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK), a TRP index in accordance with a control resource set (CORESET) scheduling the PDSCH transmission; and transmitting, by the UE via the PUCCH, HARQ-ACK information based on the receiving of the PDSCH transmission in accordance with the TRP index.

A wireless device and a cellular base station may establish a wireless link, according to which the wireless device may be configured to communicate using a primary cell and a secondary cell. The wireless device may detect beam failure on the secondary cell. The wireless device may send an indication of the beam failure recovery to the cellular base station. The wireless device may receive information configuring candidate transmit beam reference signals for performing beam recovery on the secondary cell. The wireless device may perform beam identification and report on any new transmit beam(s) identified by the wireless device.

A described technique performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a downlink reference signal from a base station; transmitting, via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number, a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) in response to a change in a quality of the downlink reference signal, wherein the BFRQ comprises new beam information; receiving, by the UE, a downlink control information (DCI) message to trigger a PUSCH transmission corresponding to the HARQ process number; and transmitting, by the UE after at least a predetermined number of symbols from a last symbol of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) reception containing the DCI message, information via a PUCCH in accordance with the new beam information. The UE can apply the new beam information to uplink and downlink channels.

System and method for beam failure recovery request

One or more computer-readable media (CRM) are disclosed. The CRM include instructions to, upon execution of the instructions by one or more processors of a base station, cause the base station to: generate a phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) for phase shift compensation; and transmit the PT-RS across a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) using a single-carrier based waveform comprising a carrier frequency.
