A method performed by a computing device of establishing a secret shared between a first communications device and at least one second communications device is provided. The method comprises acquiring, using a first means of communication with the first communications device, a first data representation from which the shared secret can be derived. The method further comprises generating a second data representation from the first data representation, from which second data representation the shared secret can be derived. Moreover, the method comprises providing, using a second means of communication, the second communications device with the second data representation, the first means of communication being different from the second means of communication.

The present disclosure provides a method for adapting a wearable device. The method includes sensing an electromyography (EMG) data responsive to a hand gesture of a user, determining a pressure applied in association with the hand gesture based on the EMG data, and causing the wearable device to be adapted to a body part of the user based on the pressure.

The present disclosure relates to example table connection methods, devices, and systems. In one example method, data that is sent by a coordinator node and that is in a first target column in a first data table is stored by a data node in a local memory. The data node receives a table connection request. When first data in the first target column is the same as second data in a second target column, the data node connects data in a row in which the first data is located to data in a row in which the second data is located. The data node sends a connection result to the coordinator node.

After having received physiological data, associated with the user of the secondary communication device, the first physiological data is compared with the physiological data provided from the secondary device for determining whether there is a match between the compared physiological data. In case of a match at least one credential is transmitted to the secondary communication device, whereas no credential is transmitted to the secondary device if no match is determined.

Methods for extracting data from a source file using a copy template and writing data to a target file using a paste template are described. The copy template may provide grammatical rules for parsing the source file in order to extract tokens corresponding with a plurality of data fields. The paste template may provide a mapping of extracted tokens into the target file. In some embodiments, a source file may comprise a word processing document, spreadsheet, or webpage that includes data displayed in a grid, list, or other structured format. Each row of a grid or list may display a limited number of properties or data values associated with the row. In some embodiments, additional information not displayed in the row may be extracted without having to manually select the additional information.

A display panel and a display device are provided to better protect a metal connecting line area in a peripheral wiring region, improve the protection degree and prevent the wire breakage. The display panel includes a gate insulating layer () disposed on a gate metal layer (); and a protective layer (), a passivation layer () and an indium tin oxide (ITO) coating layer () disposed on the gate insulating layer in sequence. The display panel and the display device can increase the film thickness in the peripheral wiring region, and hence can protect the entire peripheral wiring region and particularly the metal connecting line area exposed outside a color filter panel and improve the protection degree.

Disclosed is a method for introducing an exogenous DNA by overcoming the restriction modification barrier of the target bacterium. The method includes the steps of 1) co-expressing all DNA-methyltransferase-encoding genes in the genome of the target bacterium inin which the restriction modification system thereof has been deleted to obtain a recombinant bacterium A, 2) introducing an exogenous DNA molecule into the recombinant bacterium A for in vivo modification so as to obtain a methylation-modified exogenous DNA molecule, and 3) introducing the methylation-modified exogenous DNA molecule into the target bacterium.

Methods and systems are provided for implementing a distributed algorithm for beam-forming (e.g., MVDR beam-forming) using a message-passing algorithm. The message-passing algorithm provides for computations to be performed in a distributed manner across a network, rather than in a centralized processing center or 'fusion center'. The message-passing algorithm may also function for any network topology, and may continue operations when various changes are made in the network (e.g., nodes appearing, nodes disappearing, etc.). Additionally, the message-passing algorithm may minimize the transmission power per iteration and, depending on the particular network, also may minimize the transmission power required for communication between network nodes.

A user interface control of a computing device allows a user to zoom in and out of a list of data on a display to set a level of detail with which entries of the list are displayed. For example, when the user invokes a zoom in command, the system can provide a greater level of detail for each entry while increasing a height of a region used for each entry. When the user invokes a zoom out command, the system returns to the original presentation of the list. The system allows the user to invoke the zoom in or zoom out command multiple times. Moreover, each entry can be individually selected for display at the highest level of detail from any of the other, lower levels of detail. Further, a learning function can set an initial level of display, level skipping and entry priorities.

In a method for reconstructing a source signal, which is encoded by a set of at least two descriptions, the method comprises: receiving a subset of the set of descriptions; reconstructing a reconstructed signal at an operating bitrate of a set of operating bitrates upon the basis of the subset of descriptions, the reconstructed signal having a second probability density, wherein the second probability density comprises a first statistical moment and a second statistical moment; and manipulating the reconstructed signal, wherein the reconstructed signal is manipulated such that, irrespective of the operating bitrate, a predetermined minimum similarity between a first statistical moment of a third probability density and a first statistical moment of a first probability density and between a second statistical moment of the third probability density and a second statistical moment of the first probability density is maintained.
