A method of producing a nano twinned commercially pure titanium material includes the step of casting a commercially pure titanium material, that apart from titanium, contains not more than 0.05 wt % N; not more than 0.08 wt % C; not more than 0.015 wt % H; not more than 0.50 wt % Fe; not more than 0.40 wt % O; and not more than 0.40 wt % residuals. The material is brought to a temperature at or below 0&#xb0; C. and plastic deformation is imparted to the material at that temperature to such a degree that nano twins are formed in the material.

Method of producing a nano-twinned titanium material by casting

The invention relates to a method of producing a TWIP and nano twinned austenitic stainless steel. The austenitic steel should not contain more than 0.018 wt % C, 0.25-0.75 wt % Si, 1.5-2 wt % Mn, 17.80-19.60 wt % Cr, 24.00-25.25 wt % Ni, 3.75-4.85 wt % Mo, 1.26-2.78 wt % Cu, 0.04-0.15 wt % N, and the balance of Fe. In order to form nano twins in the material the austenitic stainless steel should be brought to a temperature below 0&#xb0; C., and imparted a plastic deformation to such a degree that the desired nano twins are formed, e.g. to a plastic deformation of around 30%. The invention also relates to the thus produced austenitic stainless steel.

TWIP and nano-twinned austenitic stainless steel and method of producing the same

The present invention relates to a duplex stainless steel alloy with austenite-ferrite structure, which in hot extruded and annealed finish shows high strength, good corrosion resistance, as well as good weldability which is characterized in that the alloy contains in weight-% max 0.05% C, 0-2.0% Si 0-3.0% Mn, 25-35% Cr, 4-10% Ni, 2-6% Mo, 0.3-0.6% N, as well as Fe and normally occurring impurities and additions, whereby the content of ferrite is 30-70%.
