An anti-masking device for an intrusion detector and method for detecting a masking substance is disclosed. The device can comprise a cover enclosing an interior area housing an electric light source and a light detecting sensor. The cover can have a light-permeable area having an exterior surface with a jagged array including a plurality of parallel spaced-apart teeth forming a series of alternating channels and projections. A light guide can be provided with opposing first and second ends. The first end can be located within the interior area adjacent the light source and the second end can be located adjacent the exterior surface of the cover. The light guide can be configured to direct light outside the cover and onto the jagged array. The jagged area can be configured to refract light from the light guide through the cover and into the interior.

Systems and methods for adjusting a focal length of a mirror are provided. Some systems can include an adjustment device having an slot, a mirror that is rotatable about an axis, and a drive coupled to the mirror and configured to engage the slot, wherein movement of the adjustment device can cause the drive to move within the slot upwards or downwards in accordance with a slope of the slot, thereby rotating the mirror about the axis.

Systems and methods for adjusting optical security sensor mirrors

A ceiling mount intrusion detector with arbitrary direction detection capability is provided. The detector can include a pyroelectric sensor and a unitary Fresnel lens such that the unitary Fresnel lens includes a first piece of a first full Fresnel lens and a second piece of a second full Fresnel lens and such that the first piece and the second piece are spliced together. Due to dimensions and location of the unitary Fresnel lens relative to the sensor, the sensor can output a signal indicative of an alarm condition when an object passes in front of the unitary Fresnel lens at any angle relative to the sensor.

Ceiling mount intrusion detector with arbitrary direction detection capability

An electrical unit includes a mounting portion, which can define, in part, an interior region. The mounting portion includes a plurality of item clamping elements. The elements are displaced from one another to releasably support an item within the interior region. Items can be selected from a class that includes at least fasteners, wall anchors, and cable ties. First and second mounting holes are provided, wherein a retainer or wall anchor can be removed from a respective clamping element and used to attach the unit to a selected mounting surface.

An intrusion detector comprises a housing including a cover and baseplate mounting a circuit board. The cover and baseplate are removably mountable to a base. A motion sensor and bracket are mounted to the circuit board. The cover has a lower lookdown window. A lookdown enable/disable actuator extends from a rear side of the circuit board and is accessible through the baseplate. The actuator is operable to move a door pivotally mounted to the bracket between an on position to enable a lookdown function and an off position to disable the lookdown function. The detector is normally mounted on a wall by securing the base to the wall. The cover and baseplate can be removed from the base. A screwdriver can be used to turn the actuator. The cover and baseplate can then be remounted to the base.
