An electrical connector includes: an insulating housing defining a mating face, a card slot, and two side walls at opposite sides of the card slot, each of the side walls defining signal passageways and grounding passageways; two rows of terminals located on the side walls and each row of terminal including signal terminals in the signal passageways and grounding terminals in the grounding passageways, the terminals including retaining portions retained in the passageways and elastic arms with contacting portions extending into the card slot; and a one-piece inserting member assembled in the insulating housing, wherein the inserting member defines plural first inserting portions inserted in the signal passageways and plural second inserting portions inserted in the grounding passageways, the second inserting portions contact corresponding grounding terminals, respectively, to establish a grounding path.

A card edge connector includes an elongated housing comprising opposite long walls and defining a card slot between the long walls, two rows of contacts retained in the long walls respectively and a ground member including two long plates retained in the long walls respectively. Each row of contacts includes ground contacts and signal contacts, the ground contacts comprises retaining sections retained in the housing, elastic sections extending upward from the retained sections with mating portions exposed to the card slot and leg sections extending downward from the retaining sections. Each of the ground contacts further comprises an engaging portion curved from the elastic section and touching corresponding long plate.

A card edge connector includes a longitudinal insulating housing including two long walls and a bottom wall connecting with the long wall and defining a card slot in a longitudinal direction among the long walls and the bottom wall, two rows of contact arranged in the long walls respectively. Each contact includes a retaining portion, a spring portion extending from the retaining portion and leg portion extending from the retaining portion and out of the insulating housing. The spring portions define contacting portions projecting into the card slot. Each contact is formed by directly punching out from a metal plate, the retaining portions define an outer edge and inner edge interfered with the insulating housing and two opposite plane faces connecting with the outer and inner edge and disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

Card edge connector with improved contacts

A card edge connector with an insulative housing includes opposite longitudinal side walls along a longitudinal direction with a receiving slot therebetween in a transverse direction. Each side wall forms a plurality of passageways. A plurality of contacts are respectively received within the corresponding passageways. Each contact includes a retaining section, a contacting section extending from the retaining section into the receiving slot, and a leg extending downwardly from the retaining section out of the housing. Each contact is further equipped with an auxiliary spring beam with an additional contacting section extending into the receiving slot. The contacts are initially linked to a single contact carrier strip so as to be simultaneously inserted into the corresponding passageways, respectively.

A card edge connector includes an elongated insulative housing, a number of terminals retained to the housing, and a metallic member formed integrally with the housing via an insert-molding process. The housing includes two lengthwise walls, a central slot defining by the two lengthwise walls, and two protrusions located at two opposite ends of the two lengthwise walls. The protrusions protrude upwardly out of an upper surface of the lengthwise walls. The metallic member includes two main portions retained respectively in the two lengthwise walls and a pair of connecting portions connecting therebetween. The connecting portions are located at the bottom of the metallic member.

An electrical card edge connector for receiving an electronic card with a bottom notch therein, includes an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals and an alignment key. The housing includes two opposite side walls, a bottom wall and a central slot among the side walls and the bottom wall. The terminals are disposed in the corresponding side walls and extend into the central slot for mating with the electronic card. The alignment key includes a body received within the central slot, a pair of extension sections covering the two side walls, and a pair of securing sections attached to the bottom wall wherein the body is adapted to be received within the bottom notch of the electronic card.

A card edge connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of conductive terminals and a pair of metal members. The insulative housing defines two side walls extending in a longitudinal direction and a central slot disposed between said two side walls, the conductive terminals are disposed in the insulative housing and protruding into the central slot, the pair of metal members enclose the insulative housing, wherein each side wall defines an embedded groove recessed from a top surface thereof and extending along the side wall in said longitudinal direction, each metal member defines a main portion enclosing an outside of the side wall and a bending portion bending from an upside thereof, the bending portion is retained in the embedded groove to provide a stability for the card edge connector.

A shielding device mounted upon a printed circuit board comprises a shielding shell including a top wall, a sidewall and at least a clamping means extending downwardly therefrom respectively, which surrounds a receiving cavity defined by the shielding shell; at least a bracket removably clamped within said clamping means and fixed upon said printed circuit board; wherein the clamping means includes a first clamping part and a second clamping part respectively abutting elastically against two opposite sides of said bracket.

A card edge connector includes an elongated insulative housing forming a central slot with two rows of terminals disposed by two sides of the central slot and retained in the housing. The housing includes two opposite lengthwise walls and two end walls connected to two opposite ends of the corresponding lengthwise walls, and a bottom wall linked to both the lengthwise walls and the end walls below the central slot. A removable key element is assembled to the two lengthwise walls and intersecting with the central slot. A receiving cavity is formed in the bottom wall to receive a light emitting device located under the key element and mounted upon the printed circuit board on which the connector is seated.
