A method for making the brittle non-metallic workpiece includes: focusing a laser beam on the brittle non-metallic substrate to form an elliptic beam spot; driving the laser beam to move along a predetermined curved cutting path, making a center of a major axis of the elliptic beam spot intersecting along the predetermined curved cutting path and the major axis being tangent to the predetermined curved cutting path at the intersecting point; a coolant stream following the elliptic beam spot to move, thus producing a crack in the brittle non-metallic substrate corresponding to the predetermined curved cutting path; separating the brittle non-metallic substrate along the crack. A laser cutting device () for making the same is also provided.

Brittle nonmetallic workpiece and method and device for making same

A method for manufacturing a light guide plate includes the follow steps. First, an injection mold including a cavity plate is provided. Then a plurality of microstructures is formed on the cavity plate by laser etching. Each microstructure includes a recess having a concave surface, and a protrusion formed around a periphery of the recess, wherein at least half of the concave surface is a mirror-like surface. Finally, a light guide plate is molded in the injection mold.

The lens module is configured for focusing a laser beam emitting from the laser source. The sprayer is rotatably connected to the lens module. The rotating subassembly is configured for driving the lens module to rotate, such as to make the laser beam rotate relative to an axis of the laser beam. The driving member is connected to the lens and configured for driving the sprayer to rotate relative to the lens module.

Laser cutting device with high precision

An exemplary laser cutting device () includes a laser source (), a lens module (), a sprayer (), a first rotating subassembly (), and a second rotating subassembly (). The lens module is configured for focusing a laser beam emitting from the laser source. The first rotating subassembly is connected to the lens module and configured for driving the lens module to rotate relative to the laser source. The second rotating subassembly is rotatably connected to the lens module. The sprayer is connected to the second rotating subassembly and driven to rotate relative to the laser source by the second rotating subassembly.

Laser cutting device

A light guide plate includes a light input surface, a light output surface adjoining the light input surface, and a reflecting surface opposite the light output surface. One of the light output surface and the reflecting surface defines a plurality of scattering microstructures. Each scattering microstructure includes a spherical protrusion having a substantially spherical surface, and a substantially ring-shaped groove defined around a periphery of the spherical protrusion. At least half of the spherical surface is as smooth as a mirror. A method for manufacturing the light guide plate and a backlight module using the light guide plate are also provided.

A prism sheet includes a main body. The main body includes an incident surface, an emitting surface opposite to the incident surface, and a plurality of micro-protrusions formed on the incident surface. Each micro-protrusion includes two side surfaces and an arced ridge of intersection of the two side surfaces. Each side surface is a conical surface of an imaginary cone. The imaginary cone has a conical base whose circumference is defined by the arced ridge. The conical bases defined by the arced ridges of the micro-protrusions are parallel to each other. The present prism sheet and the backlight module using the same can efficiently decrease interference.

An exemplary lens holder () includes a lens holding platform (), a base (), a resilient element (), and three platform supporting members (). The platform supporting members () connect the lens holding platform () with the base (), and are aligned on different axes. One of the three platform supporting members () is adjustable, thus adjusting a gradient of the lens holding platform () relative to the base ().

Lens holder

A direct type backlight module includes a light guide plate, a plurality of supporting units and a plurality of light sources. The light guide plate includes a bottom surface, and an emitting surface opposite to the bottom surface, a plurality of grooves formed on the bottom surface. The light sources are fixed in the grooves with the corresponding supporting units. The present backlight module has a thin body and also has a high optical brightness.

Direct type backlight module

A backlight module () includes a light source (), a prism sheet () and a light guide plate (). The light guide plate includes an incident surface (), an emitting surface (), a bottom surface () and a plurality of depressions (). The emitting surface is located adjoining the incident surface. The depressions are formed on the emitting surface. Each depression has a refractive surface () and a reflective surface () adjoining the refractive surface. The reflective surface faces the incident surface, and the refractive surface faces away from the incident surface. The light source is arranged besides the light guide plate and facing the incident surface. The prism sheet has a prism surface facing the emitting surface of the light guide plate and forms a plurality of prisms () on the prism surface.

Light guide plate with reflective/refractive depressions, and backlight module using the same

A backlight module () includes a light guide plate () and two light emitters (). The light guide plate includes an emitting surface (), a bottom surface () opposite to the emitting surface, a plurality of side surfaces interconnecting the emitting surface and bottom surface, and an incident surface () disposed at a corner portion thereof adjoining to two adjacent side surfaces. The light guide plate defines a through hole () in the corner portion adjacent to the incident surface. The two light emitters are adjacent to and face the incident surface.

Backlight module incorporating a nonspecular reflective device

A backlight module () includes a light source (), a light guide plate (), and a frame (). The frame contains the light source and the light guide plate. The frame includes a base plate () defining a transflective region () and a plurality of holes () defined in the transflective region. A portion of light beams from the light source is reflected by the transflective region out one main face of the backlight module, and a remainder of the light beams passes through the transflective region to emit from another main face of the backlight module. The backlight module and frame provide a double-sided emitting structure for a double-sided LCD. This avoids the need for an expensive transflector.
