A pulley for a CVT has a fixed sheave, a movable sheave, a spider, a biasing member biasing the movable sheave axially away from the fixed sheave, at least one centrifugal actuator and at least one roller assembly. The at least one centrifugal actuator has an arm pivotally connected to one of the movable sheave and the spider. The arm has a thrust portion pushing against a track portion of a roller of the at least one roller assembly upon rotation of the CVT, the roller being rotationally connected to another one of the movable sheave and the spider. The roller receives the thrust portion of the arm on the track portion thereof such that the thrust portion of the arm remains in contact with the track portion of the roller. The arm and the roller thereby transfer axial and rotational forces between the spider and the movable sheave.

Pulley for a continuously variable transmission

An exhaust valve assembly has a valve actuator, a first valve part (FVP) operatively connected to the actuator, a second valve part (SVP), and at least one auxiliary valve operatively connected to the second valve part. When the actuator is in a first position, the FVP is in a fourth position, the SVP is in a seventh position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in a ninth position. When the actuator is in a second position, the FVP is in a fifth position, the SVP is in the seventh position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in the ninth position. When the actuator is in a third position, the FVP is in a sixth position, the SVP is in an eighth position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in a tenth position. The second position is intermediate the first and third positions.

Exhaust valve assembly for a two-stroke engine

An exhaust valve assembly for a two-stroke internal combustion engine has a valve actuator having a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber, and a valve operatively connected to the valve actuator. The first and second pressure chambers are adapted for selectively receiving one of a first pressure and a second pressure. The first pressure is higher than the second pressure. The valve actuator moves the valve between at least a first valve position and a second valve position. The valve actuator moves the valve to the first valve position when the first pressure is supplied to the first pressure chamber and the second pressure is supplied to the second pressure chamber. The valve actuator moves the valve to the second valve position when the second pressure is supplied to the first pressure chamber and the first pressure is supplied to the second pressure chamber.

Exhaust valve assembly for a two-stroke internal combustion engine

A two-stroke internal combustion engine is disclosed having first and second cylinders having respective exhaust ports. A valve assembly comprises at least one valve actuator. First and second valves are operatively connected to the at least one valve actuator. The first and second valves are each movable between a first position wherein the valve extends a first distance in the respective exhaust port and a second position wherein the valve extends a second distance in the respective exhaust port. A valve connecting member is rigidly connected to the first and second valves and movable therewith via a translational motion while maintaining a substantially constant angular orientation relative to the cylinder block. A position sensor has a first portion connected to the cylinder block and a second portion connected to the valve connecting member. An electronic control unit (ECU) electrically connected to the position sensor.
