A method for real-time-capable data transmission between two networks includes a first real-time-capable communication system having a first real-time mechanism for real-time-capable data transmission set up in a first network. A second real-time-capable communication system having a second real-time mechanism for real-time-capable data transmission is set up in a second network. The first network and the second network are connected to one another via a mapping module which reciprocally maps the first real-time mechanism of the first real-time-capable communication system and the second real-time mechanism of the second real-time-capable communication system to one another. For real-time-capable data transmission from one of the two networks to the other of the two networks, a data packet is transmitted in the one of the two networks according to the real-time mechanism of the real-time-capable communication system set up in the network.

Method and apparatus for real-time-capable data transmission between two networks

The disclosure relates to a method for connecting a machine having a multiplicity of machine components to a wireless network, wherein configuration data are generated having information about the multiplicity of machine components and how the latter are to be networked to one another, wherein the configuration data are transmitted to the wireless network, wherein a subnetwork of the wireless network is set up on the basis of the configuration data for the multiplicity of machine components and wherein the machine is connected to the subnetwork of the wireless network.

A component is disclosed having a network communication device that controls transmission of data in a data network between the component and another component, without a repeat transmission of time-critical data of the plurality of data packets being possible in a transmission cycle. The network communication device is configured to (i) tolerate a possible packet error in a data packet received in a preceding transmission cycle, (ii) signal to the other component in a following transmission cycle a presence or absence of a packet error, (iii) determine whether the other component has signaled a presence of a packet error in a data packet sent by the component in the preceding transmission cycle, and (iv) depending on whether the other component signaled the presence of a packet error, adjust a number of redundancy data items in a data packet to be sent in the following transmission cycle.

Methods for operating real-time wireless networks enable robust medium access strategies for communicating nodes in the network. A given wireless channel is divided into several sub-carriers, with each node assigned to a subset of sub-carriers. A master wireless node uses different subsets of the sub-carriers to communication with two or more slave wireless nodes simultaneously. The method includes generation of preambles that are robust to interference and multipath conditions. The method also enables communication within a maximum predetermined latency bound.

Method for robust real-time wireless industrial communication

A method of wireless communication includes providing a matrix of trackers. The matrix includes rows and columns of trackers. A number of rows and a number of columns in the matrix is determined. If the number of rows is substantially greater than the number of columns, then vertical sweeping is performed including passing data along each of the columns of trackers to an end tracker in each column. If the number of rows is substantially less than the number of columns, then horizontal sweeping is performed including passing data along each of the rows of trackers to an end tracker in each row. If the number of rows is substantially equal to the number of columns, then diagonal sweeping is performed including passing data diagonally across each of the rows and columns of trackers to an end tracker in each row and each column. The data is passed along the end trackers to a final destination data collector.

Method for robust wireless monitoring and tracking of solar trackers in commercial solar power plants

For each first tracker in a first subset there exists a respective second tracker in a second subset such that a distance between the first tracker and the second tracker is shorter than each distance between the second tracker and each of the other first trackers in the subset by more than a threshold distance. In a first time slot, data is wirelessly transmitted using a same first frequency from each of the first trackers in the subset of the first trackers to the respective second tracker in the subset of the second trackers. In a subsequent time slot, the data is wirelessly transmitted from each of the second trackers in the subset of the second trackers to a final destination data collector.
