For the production of a white LED having a predetermined color temperature, a blue LED (-) or a UV LED is coated with a conversion layer () which absorbs the blue light or UV light and emits light of greater wavelength. In accordance with the invention, the exact wavelength of the LED (-) is determined and the color conversion agent () is applied over this LED (-) in a quantity dependent upon the determined wavelength. Through this, the tolerance of the color temperature can be significantly reduced. The color conversion agent may be applied by means of dispenser or stamp, and the quantity and/or concentration selected in dependence upon the determined wavelength. Inkjet printing, deposition from the gas phase or selective removal by means of a laser is, however, also possible. The invention also relates to light sources produced in accordance with this method.

Method for the production of white LEDs and white LED light source

An LED die () is arranged with an adhesive () on an LED PCB (). The LED PCB () has on the side opposite to the LED die () rear side contacts (). Through this a self-contained LED lamp is formed, which e.g. can be applied by means of SMT to a board () or introduced into a lamp socket. In accordance with the invention, the rear side contacts () cover at least the half area, preferably the entire area apart from necessary exceptions, of the LED PCB (). Through this, the heat can be discharged with slight thermal resistance. Preferably a cooling body () is arranged on the rear side of the board (). In this case it is expedient if the board () has through-contacts for increasing the thermal conductivity.

A thin-film assembly () including a substrate () and at least one electronic thin-film component () applied on the substrate by thin-film technology, wherein a base electrode () is provided on the substrate, on which base electrode thin-film layers () forming part of the thin-film component are arranged together with an upper top electrode (); the substrate () is comprised of a printed circuit board () known per se and including an insulation-material base body () and a metal coating as the conductor layer (), wherein the conductor layer () forms the base electrode () and, to this end, is smoothed at least on the location of the thin-film component (), and wherein a contact layer () is applied by thin-film technology between the smoothed, optionally reinforced, conductor layer () and the superimposed thin-film layers () of the thin-film component (), which contact layer is physically or chemically adsorbed on the surface of the base electrode ().
