A slide ring seal arrangement comprises a rotationally fixed slide ring () and a slide ring (), which is provided for rotating together with a rotating component, these slide rings each being held in a loose seat and interacting, in, in essence, radially oriented sealing surfaces, which are prestressed with a main prestressing force while in contact with one another. Each slide ring, on its front face that faces away from the sealing surface, is axially supported on a supporting part () via an annular bearing surface () provided between the respective supporting part and the adjacent front face of the respective slide ring. A load ratio (d&#x2212;d)/(d&#x2212;d) of =2.0, preferably between 0.8 and 2.0, preferably no greater than between 1.0 and 1.5, more preferably approximately 1.3 is maintained on the bearing surface (). The measurement (d&#x2212;d) of each bearing surface () is equal to =10 mm, preferably between 0.2 and 2.0, preferably no more than approximately 0.6 mm.

Slide ring seal arrangement

The present invention refers to an apparatus for rotationally fixing a seal ring () of a mechanical seal assembly retained at a mounting component () to be axially movable, comprising a force transmitting ring () retained at the mounting component to be axially movable and a rotation prevention device comprising at least one first engaging member () configured to engage with the mounting component and the force transmitting ring in a form-fit manner and at least one second engaging member () configured to engage with the force transmitting ring and the seal ring in a form-fit manner, the first engaging member being arranged circumferentially offset with respect to the second engaging member, characterized in that the engaging members () protrude axially from the force transmitting ring () or the seal ring () toward the respectively other component (seal ring or force transmitting ring) and are configured to be received in axial recesses () provided in the respectively other component with a play.

Apparatus for rotationally fixing a seal ring of a mechanical seal assembly axially movably retained at a mounting component

A mechanical seal assembly including at least one pair of co-operating seal rings, one of which is provided for common rotation with a rotating component and the other of which is provided rotationally fixed at a stationary component. One of the seal rings is axially movable and axially biased with a biasing force against the other seal ring, the biasing force being transmittable through a force transmitting ring to the respective seal ring, in order to bias facing sliding surfaces of the seal rings, between which a sealing gap is formed during operation, in a mutual sealing engagement, and a secondary sealing assembly provided at the force transmitting ring for sealing the axially movable seal ring with respect to at least one circumferential guiding surface of a guiding component guiding the movement of the seal ring and the force transmitting ring.

Mechanical seal assembly

A dual seal assembly, in particular for sealing a gas compressor, includes a first mechanical seal assembly including a pair of co-operating seal rings, one of which is provided for common rotation with a rotating component and the other of which is provided rotationally fixed at a stationary component. A second mechanical seal assembly includes a pair of co-operating seal rings, one of which is provided for common rotation with a rotating component and the other of which is provided rotationally fixed at a stationary component. One of the seal rings is axially movable and axially biased with a biasing force against the respectively other seal ring to bias facing sliding surfaces of the seal ringss in a mutual sealing engagement. A secondary sealing assembly is provided for sealing the axially movable seal ring with respect to at least one circumferential guiding surface of a guiding component.

Dual seal assembly

A divided driver device () for a mechanical face seal for non-rotatable assembly on a rotary component and for the transmission of a torque to a seal ring () held in non-rotatable manner on the driver device. The driver device () is divided in at least a single radial plane so as to form sections in the form of segments of a circle that are adapted to be clamped together to form a ring shape and furthermore, it is axially sub-divided into a divided retaining ring () for retaining the seal ring () and a divided mounting ring () for non-rotatable mounting to the rotary component. The rings () are coupled together for rotation in common, as indicted by (). The retaining ring () comprises mutually sealed sections () in the form of segments of a circle which are adapted to be placed together to form a ring shape having an inner radial dimension that is greater than the nominal outer radial dimension of the rotary component concerned (), and said sections comprise peripherally aligned end faces () which are preferably in metal-to-metal contact with one another and have a surface finish for mutually sealing them.

Divided driver device for a slip ring seal

A secondary sealing element comprises a base body () made of a synthetic material and comprising a base portion () and a seal portion () which each comprise coaxially aligned, axially adjacent through bores () for the passage of a component, and an annular disc element () accommodated in the base portion and comprising a through bore () coaxially aligned with the through bores in the base and seal portions and being made of a material which differs from that of the base body. In the unloaded state, the through bore () of the annular disc element () has a radial dimension d which is greater than that Dof the through bore () in the seal portion () and smaller than that Din the base portion () of the base body (). The annular disc element consists of a carbon material. An important field of application for the secondary sealing element is that of mechanical face seals for sealing relatively moveable components.
