A predistortion circuit for a wireless transmitter includes a signal input configured to receive a baseband signal. Further, the predistortion circuit includes a predistorter configured to generate a predistorted baseband signal using the baseband signal and a select of one of a first predistorter configuration and a second predistorter configuration.

A phase shifter for adjusting a phase shift between an input signal and output signal of the phase shifter includes: a first signal path between the input and the output; a second signal path between the input and the output; and a phase-shifter circuit configured to shift a phase of a first signal of the first signal path and a phase of a second signal of the second signal path by a constant phase angle relative to each other. The first and second signal paths each comprise a voltage-divider circuit connected to its respective signal path and configured to adjust an amplitude of a signal of the respective signal path. The output signal is based on a combination of the first signal and the second signal.

According to a first example implementation, the method comprises providing a local oscillator signal in a first radar chip based on a local oscillator signal generated in a further radar chip; supplying the local oscillator signal to a transmission channel of the first radar chip which, based on the local oscillator signal, generates an HF output signal; changing the temperature and/or supply voltage of the first radar chip; measuring phase values based on the local oscillator signal supplied to the transmission channel and of the corresponding HF output signal for different temperature values and/or for different supply voltage values of the first radar chip; and ascertaining calibration data based on the measured phase values for a phase calibration to compensate for changes in the phase of the HF output signal resulting from a change in the temperature and/or in the supply voltage.

Systems, circuitries, and methods for predistorting a digital signal in a transmit chain based on a predistortion function are provided. A method includes shifting a center frequency of an input signal by an offset to generate an adapted signal; predistorting the adapted signal based on a predistortion function to generate a predistorted adapted signal; reverting the shifting of the center frequency of the predistorted adapted signal by the offset to generate a predistorted signal; and causing transmission of the predistorted signal by a transmit chain.

A method for determining phase information in a radar system comprises receiving a first RF oscillator signal at a first input node and receiving a second RF oscillator signal at a second input node, wherein an arrangement having a multiplicity of delay elements is connected between the first input node and the second input node, and wherein corresponding RF signals representing a superposition of first RF oscillator signal and second RF oscillator signal are present at different positions of the arrangement. The method further comprises generating measurement values representing the amplitudes of the RF signals, generating digital representations of the measurement values, and calculating a relative phase value, representing the difference between the phase of the second RF oscillator signal and the phase of the first RF oscillator signal, on the basis of the digital representations of the measurement values.

A method includes: receiving a second digital signal that is input to the transmit chain, wherein the transmit chain is characterized by a present transmit chain state; performing a first operation on the second digital signal to generate an adapted digital signal, wherein the first operation is based on either a relationship between the first digital signal and the second digital signal, or a relationship between the first transmit chain state and the present transmit chain state; predistorting the adapted digital signal based on the predistortion function; and performing a second operation on the predistorted adapted signal, wherein the second operation corresponds to an inverse of the first operation.

An apparatus for amplifying a transmit signal includes a power amplifier module arranged within a transmit path to be coupled to an antenna module. The power amplifier module is configured to amplify a transmit signal. Further, the apparatus includes a coupling module arranged between the power amplifier module and the antenna module. The coupling module is configured to provide a reverse feedback signal substantially generated by a part of the amplified transmit signal reflected by the antenna module. Further, the apparatus includes a determining module configured to determine a delay information on a delay between the transmit path and an envelope tracking path based on at least the reverse feedback signal. Additionally, the apparatus includes a power supply module arranged within the envelope tracking path configured to vary a power supply of the power amplifier module based on a transmit signal envelope information with a temporal alignment depending on the delay information.

The components may include a programmable digital portion, a dedicated digital portion, and an analog portion. An envelope tracking system and a method for adjusting a nonlinear transfer function of an envelope tracking power supply for a power amplifier are provided. An output signal of the power amplifier is provided to a feedback receiver for determining an actual performance of the envelope tracking power amplifier. An assumed performance of the envelope tracking power amplifier is determined by evaluating the non-linear transfer function at a value defined by an input signal for a transmitter including the power amplifier. A difference between the assumed performance and the actual performance provides a correctional value for the nonlinear transfer function.
