A control system for a plastics processing machine with at least one central processing unit with a real-time operating system is described. The central processing unit is connected to a plurality of actuators and/or sensors via a bus system, with at least one actuator and/or sensor directed to a rapidly fluctuating variable with a high-resolution. The first central processing unit can be released of overly burdensome control and communication tasks by using a first pre-processing unit which performs signal pre-processing for several sensors and/or actuators and by using a second pre-processing unit, which relieves the central processing unit directly of the bus communication.

A platen of an injection molding machine includes a plate-shaped center area having corners, each corner formed with a recess. A plurality of sleeves is received in the recesses of the center area and defines bores for accommodation of column-like holding and/or guide elements. The sleeves have an outer surface in confronting relationship to the center area and are configured for only partial connection to the center area, thereby establishing an elastic connection between the center area and the sleeves.

The invention relates to a clamping device for an injection molding machine for plastics, including a fixed platen () which is connected to a moving platen () by means of a toggle mechanism (). A hollow-shaft motor () is provided to cooperate with a spindle () for operating the toggle mechanism, wherein the hollow-shaft motor () is connected to the toggle mechanism (). According to the invention, the spindle () is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner, the end of the spindle (), facing the moving platen (), is in engagement with the rotor () of the hollow-shaft motor (), and the stator () of the hollow-shaft motor is connected with the toggle mechanism (). Preferably, a spindle nut is fixed in the rotor () for engagement with the spindle (), preferably in the form of a recirculating ball screw.

Closing device in an injection moulding machine for plastics

The invention relates to a screw mechanism comprised of a screw shaft (), a screw nut () and rolling bodies. When the screw mechanism is subjected to a high static load, the forces are transmitted from the screw shaft () to the screw nut () by means of the rolling bodies. As the contact surfaces between the rolling bodies, the screw nut () and the screw shaft () are very small, only relatively weak forces can be transmitted. In order to adapt the screw mechanism to high static loads, using simple construction measures, the surface of the screw shaft () between the grooves () of the rolling bodies is provided with locking structures which can be form-fittingly connected with complementary locking structures of locking elements () which are moveable essentially transversally to the axis of the screw shaft ().

A molding machine includes a mold space between two mold carriers. One of the two mold carriers is movable relative to the other by a drive. A separate power unit generates a predetermined closing force between the two mold carriers when the two mold carriers are moved together. The separate power unit comprises, for its actuation, a pressure cushion filled with a composition that is highly viscous by comparison with hydraulic oil.
