In a kitchen appliance (1) comprising a container (2) and a drive unit (9) adapted to be placed onto the container (2) and having a housing (10) which accommodates a motor (21) of the drive unit (9), the housing (10) carries in the area of its housing cover wall an actuator grip (26) for actuating a retaining device (40) arranged in the housing (10) and, by moving the actuator grip (26) from a rest position into an operating position, the retaining device can be set from a disengaged position into a retaining position in which the drive unit (9) and the container (2) are coupled to one another so as to form a firmly coupled assembly with the aid of the retaining device (40).

Kitchen appliance with improved drive unit

A depilation apparatus comprising a number of pinching discs (39, 119, 143) which are coupled to a drive shaft (7, 145) by means of a coupling member (43, 123, 155) and which are pivotable by means of a pivot member (87, 89) about a pivot axis (115, 141) extending transverse to the drive shaft (7, 145) into a pinching position in which the pinching discs (39, 119, 143) exert a pinching force on one another near a depilation opening (3). The coupling members (43, 123, 155) are each provided with a rotund pivot guide (45, 125, 153), so that the pinching discs (39, 119, 143) are coupled to the drive shaft (7, 145) substantially without play in a radial direction in any position. In a special embodiment, the drive shaft (7) is provided with three parallel rods (11) and the coupling member (43) is arranged between the rods (11), whereby the coupling member (43) bears on each rod (11) with a lateral surface which forms part of a spherical surface tangent to each rod (11). Due to the use of the coupling members (43, 123, 155), the pinching discs (39, 119, 143) have a high degree of tilting freedom relative to the drive shaft (7, 145) and are coupled to the drive shaft (7, 145) without play in any tilting position.

Disc-type depilation apparatus with play-free shaft coupling

The invention relates to a depilation apparatus, in which a driving roller (3) and a drive roller (4) are provided with tooth means (5, 6) and form a roller pair, the rollers performing a rotary movement which is directed into the interior of the apparatus at the location where they interengage circumferentially. The driven roller (4) of each roller pair has teeth (5) along its entire circumference but the driving roller (3) has teeth only along part of its circumference, so that the rollers intermesh only during part of a revolution of the driving roller.

Depilation apparatus

A dry shaver comprises a basic unit housing together with a shaver head having a longitudinally extending upper blade and a reciprocatorily drivable longitudinally extending lower blade acting in conjunction therewith. A swinging bridge is secured in the basic unit housing and has a reciprocatory output part for driving the lower blade and a stationary base part provided with an aperture. An electric motor having an essentially-cylindrical housing has one end of the motor housing connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge, the drive shaft of the motor extending through the aperture in the base part into the output part of the swinging bridge. An eccentric on the drive shaft drives the output part. A frame-like motor support has a transverse U-shape, one end of such support being connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge. The support has two longitudinal sections parallel to the motor drive shaft and partially enclosing the motor housing to form motor bearing surfaces, and a transverse section at its other end to support the other end of the motor housing. Two spring-action tongues are connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge respectively adjacent the opposite ends of the shaver head. Two catches are respectively provided at the free ends of the tongues for securing the shaver head. Two shaver-head bearing surfaces are provided on the stationary base part of the swinging bridge respectively adjacent the tongues, the catches pressing the shaver head against such latter bearing surfaces. The swinging bridge, the motor support, the tongues, and the shaver-head bearing surfaces are formed from a plastic as a single-piece component.
