The invention relates to dental compounds that contain at least one polyacid or at least one polyacid and at least one salt of at least one polyacid. The polyacids used have at least one branch point in the polymer structure and are water-soluble and not cross-linked and their repeat units consist to at least 80 mole % of acrylic acid segments.

Prepolymeric (meth)acrylates with polycyclic or aromatic segments

The invention relates to a mixing capsule, especially for producing dental materials. The inventive capsule is provided with a cartridge which is closed on one end thereof by means of a piston. A hemispherical cavity is configured in the piston. Said cavity forms an additional chamber and is closed in relation to the main chamber of the cartridge by means of a separating device. A body that is present in the main chamber in the initial state serves for supporting the mixing process and for chopping through the separating device at the beginning of the mixing process in such a way that the main chamber and the additional chamber form a coherent mixing chamber. The body enters the hemispherical additional chamber and acts as a displacing body at the end of the output process. The mixing capsule is provided with a coding.

Mixing capsule and method of making and using same

Dental materials containing monomers and/or prepolymers can be subjected to a polymer-forming reaction. The dental materials comprise at least one initiating system and optionally comprise fillers, colorants, flow modifiers, stabilizers, ion-releasing substances as well as compounds which increase X-ray capacity or other modifiers. The dental materials are characterized in that the initiating system is proportioned such that the dental materials are sufficiently capable of flowing for at least 10 seconds after exposure to oxygen, whereupon they subsequently harden into a solid material.
