A vibration damper, especially for a motor vehicle, with at least one tubular structural component part, an axially displaceable piston rod which is guided out of the tubular structural component part, a fastening element which is fixedly secured with the piston rod and which can be fastened with a wheel suspension or a body of a motor vehicle, and a protective tube which is arranged at the piston rod and encloses the tubular structural component part. The protective tube is connected with the piston rod in a positive engagement and/or in a frictional engagement in its region facing the fastening element.

Vibration damper, especially for motor vehicles

Knuckle eye, in particular for a vibration damper, comprising a plastic body which has a transverse opening for a fastening device, a connection opening for the connection to the unit to be supported, whereby the connection opening has a metal reinforcement sleeve to increase the strength of the connection. The reinforcement sleeve, by way of a portion which deviates from the uniformly round shape, forms a positive or interlocking connection with the plastic body, whereby a reinforcement band is inserted into the plastic body concentric to the transverse opening, which reinforcement band partly surrounds the reinforcement sleeve in the vicinity of the positive connection.

Hinge eye, in particular for a vibration damper, comprising a plastic body with a transverse opening for a fastening means, and a connection opening for the unit to be retained, characterized by the fact that the connection opening has a metal reinforcement sleeve to reinforce the connection.

A vibration damper includes a pressure tube in which a piston on a piston rod which can move axially is guided by means of a piston rod guide which closes the pressure tube. The piston divides the pressure tube which is filled with damping medium into two working chambers. A piston ring which covers a peripheral area of the piston has an essentially U-shaped cross section with retaining surfaces, whereby the retaining surfaces are supported on the upper and lower side of the piston. On at least one side of the piston, at least a portion of the piston on which the retaining surfaces of the piston ring are engaged has a profiled surface. The profiled surface is configured such that the distance between one side of the piston and a hypothetical reference plane which runs parallel to the piston side is alternately less than and greater than a specified size of fit.

Vibration damper

Vibration damper, in particular a single-tube vibration damper, comprising a cylinder which is closed on the end by a piston rod guide which centers an axially movable piston rod with a piston, whereby the piston with its damping valves divides the cylinder into an upper and a lower work chamber, and a decompression stop in the form of a compression spring with a round wire cross section which is located in the upper working chamber, characterized by the fact that the compression spring is designed in multiple stages, whereby a first longitudinal segment of the spring interferes with the cylinder and is held in the cylinder by means of this interference fit, and an additional longitudinal segment forms a guide with respect to the piston rod.

Vibration damper with mechanical decompression stop

In a vibration damper for a motor vehicle a flow path connecting a working chamber of the cylinder with a damping behavior control unit is confined by a flow path tube surrounding the cylinder. The flow path tube is provided adjacent its axial end portions with bead-shaped grooves accommodating respective sealing rings. These sealing rings are according to an illustrated example of the invention in engagement with an external surface of the cylinder. The bead-shaped grooves are obtained by non-cutting machining.

Vibration damper unit

A casing tube of a vibration damper is provided with a connecting sleeve extending substantially radially from the radially outer circumferential surface of the casing tube. At the location where the connecting sleeve is fastened to the casing tube, the casing tube is provided with a planar face area.
