Systems and methods for determining an indication of locationing accuracy are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an antenna deployment including multiple antennas and corresponding locations for the antennas is obtained. Then, one or more radio characteristics are determined for ubiety locations based on the antenna deployment and an indication of locationing accuracy for the ubiety locations is determined based on the one or more radio characteristics. In this way, an antenna deployment can be evaluated for locationing accuracy. This may be used by a network engineer or an automated system to determine and/or refine an antenna deployment.

According to certain embodiments, a method by a network node (860) for shifting cell borders of multiple frequency bands includes deploying at least two frequency bands. Each of the at least two frequency bands have at least two cells, and each cell have an associated cell coverage area within a common target coverage area. Each of the at least two frequency bands are associated with a respective interference area along a respective cell border, and each interference area is characterized by interference from an adjacent cell. The associated cell coverage area of at least one of the at least two frequency bands is adjusted such that the respective cell border of the at least one of the at least two frequency bands is shifted to reduce a common interference area of the at least two frequency bands. The common interference area is an area where the respective cell borders of the at least two frequency bands overlap.

Cell border shifting for multiple frequency bands

It is presented a method for controlling uplink contribution from a plurality of remote radio heads in a combiner. The method is performed in a remote radio head controller and comprises the steps of: determining a first set of at least one remote radio head; determining a second set of at least one remote radio head, wherein the first set and the second set are disjoint; selecting a first uplink carrier for a first wireless device; selecting a second uplink carrier for a second wireless device; and applying a configuration such that the at least one remote radio head of the first set refrains from contributing on a first channel with uplink signals on the second uplink carrier and that the at least one remote radio head of the second set refrains from contributing on the first channel with uplink signals on the first uplink carrier.

Combining uplink radio signals

It is provided a method for combining signal streams in a point-to-point transmitter comprising a plurality of frequency component inputs and a transmitter output. The method is performed in the point-to-point transmitter and comprises the steps of: receiving a first set of data subcarriers for a first signal stream on respective frequency component inputs, the first signal stream intended to be transmitted on a first carrier; receiving a second set of data subcarriers for a second signal stream on respective frequency component inputs, the second signal stream intended to be transmitted on a second carrier; combining all frequency component inputs to one output signal by performing an inverse fast Fourier transform of all frequency component inputs and a parallel to serial conversion; and providing the output signal on the output for transmission to a point-to-point receiver over a point-to-point medium.

Combining signal streams using frequency components

A method for inserting control data in a modulator comprising a plurality of frequency component inputs and a modulator output. The method is performed in the modulator and comprises receiving primary data subcarriers on respective frequency component inputs which are assigned for receiving primary data, receiving at least one control data subcarrier on a respective frequency component input which is not assigned to primary data, combining all frequency component inputs to one output signal, and providing the output signal on the output for transmission to a demodulator over a point-to-point medium.

Inserting and extracting control data using frequency components

A method is provided to determine radio channel metrics for radio communication between a plurality of remote radio heads and a wireless device. The method is performed in a remote radio head controller and comprising: selecting a first set of at least one remote radio head; selecting a second set of at least one remote radio head; configuring at least one switch such that only the remote radio heads of the first set communicate radio signals using a first radio branch; configuring at least one switch such that only the remote radio heads of the second set communicate radio signals using a second radio branch; determining a first radio channel metric for radio communication with the wireless device using the first radio branch; and determining a second radio channel metric for radio communication with the wireless device using the second radio branch.

Determining radio channel metrics

It is presented a method for controlling remote radio head contribution by a plurality of remote radio heads in at least one combiner. The method is comprises: obtaining a number of available baseband processor devices for uplink processing; connecting uplink signals from a set of remote radio heads in each one of the combiners; determining a respective radio channel measurement for uplink radio communication from a first wireless device; repeating the connecting and determining until radio channel measurements have been determined for all of the plurality of remote radio heads; selecting a first subset of at least one remote radio head from the plurality of remote radio heads for receiving radio communication from the first wireless device; and reducing an uplink contribution from at least one remote radio head, of the plurality of remote radio heads, which is not part of the first subset.

It is presented a method for reducing interference between network nodes of a cellular network, the method being performed in an aggressor network node, being a network node risking to interfere with transmissions to a first wireless device by a victim network node. The method comprises the steps of: receiving a transmission avoidance request from the victim network node, the transmission avoidance request comprising a reference to at least one risk resource unit intended to be used for transmissions by the victim network node to the first wireless device; determining whether to avoid user data transmissions to a second wireless device using the at least one risk resource unit; and when it is determined to avoid user data transmissions using the at least one risk resource unit, avoiding user data transmission using the at least one risk resource unit.

Reducing interference between network nodes

It is presented a method for assisting handling of interference at a receiver device. The method is performed in a network node and comprises the steps of: determining a parameter indicating a maximum number of interfering streams for which interference suppression is likely to be successful at the receiver device; determining that a number of potentially interfering streams at the receiver device exceeds the maximum number of interfering streams indicated by the parameter; and scheduling transmissions to avoid that the number of concurrent interfering streams at the receiver device exceeds the maximum number of interfering streams indicated by the parameter. A corresponding network node is also presented.

Method and network node for assisting handling of interference at a receiver device

A method in a cellular radio network, the method comprising, at a first basestation, synchronizing physical radio resource time-frequency radio resource units for the first basestation and a second, neighboring basestation, and determining that the first basestation intends to transmit at reduced power for, or not transmit on, one or more given time-frequency radio resource units selected from the set of available time-frequency radio resource units and determining that the second basestation intends to transmit normally on the given time-frequency radio resource unit(s). As a result of the determination, a threshold for switching of user equipment (UE) from the first to the second base station is lowered, where the UEs are to be allocated to the one or more given time-frequency radio resource units of the second basestation following switching.
