A sensored insulation plug for a separable connector in a MV/HV power distribution network of a national grid, operable to sense the MV/HV elevated voltage. The sensored insulation plug includes a plug body formed by a solidified insulating material, a contact piece, and a discrete coupling capacitor embedded in the insulating material and operable to harvest energy from the elevated voltage of the contact piece and optionally operable to superimpose a communication voltage signal over the elevated voltage. The sensored insulation plug further includes an integrated sensing capacitor, operable as a high-voltage capacitor in a sensing voltage divider for sensing the elevated voltage. The sensing capacitor comprises a high-voltage electrode comprising the coupling electrode and the contact piece, a tubular sensing electrode, and a dielectric comprising a portion of the insulating material.

Encapsulated PCB assembly () for electrical connection to a high- or medium-voltage power conductor in a power distribution network of a national grid, comprising a) a PCB (), delimited by a peripheral edge () and comprising a high-tension pad () on a voltage of at least one kilovolt, b) an electrically insulating encapsulation body () in surface contact with, and enveloping, the high-tension pad and at least a portion of the PCB edge adjacent to the high-tension pad, c) a shielding layer () on an external surface () of the encapsulation body and for being held on electrical ground or on a low voltage to shield at least a low-voltage portion of the PCB. An assembly for covering at least a portion of a cable, such as an electric cable, comprises an elastomeric tube and a hybrid support core structure. The hybrid core structure includes a central core structure formed from a spirally wound separable ribbon that supports a central portion of the elastomeric tube in a radially expanded state, and first and second solid end core structures that support first and second end portions of the elastomeric tube in a radially expanded state. Each solid end core structure has a film disposed on at least an inner surface thereof having a coefficient of friction less than or equal to 0.05.

The invention relates to a voltage sensing device () for a high and/or medium voltage power carrying conductor (), the voltage sensing device comprising: a radially outer electrode () operable as a first sensing electrode of a sensing capacitor for sensing the voltage of the power carrying conductor; a radially inner electrode () operable as a second sensing electrode of the sensing capacitor; a dielectric material () arranged between the inner and the outer electrode (), wherein the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material of at least one electrode () is selected such that it compensates the temperature dependent parameters of the dielectric material () and/or the other electrode (), that influences the capacity of the voltage sensing capacitor.
