Furniture hinge

Mounting plate for a furniture hinge which is adjustable in height

A cabinet unit has an outer door pivotable relative to an outer portion of a furniture piece to define an outer cabinet, and an inner door pivotable relative to an inner portion of a furniture piece to define an inner cabinet, such as a refrigerator and the like, wherein in an open position of the inner door a gap is available between the inner door and the inner portion of the furniture piece to provide an access to mounting and adjusting screws of a hinge of the outer door.

A cabinet with double doors consisting of an inner door and an outer door. The inner door is mounted in such a way as to swing on the hinge axis of the shell of a refrigerator or freezer inside the cabinet and open or close the appliance. A coupling mechanism between the outer and inner doors and the shell of the appliance is associated with the hinges. The coupling mechanism has a drive assembly mounted on the inner door in such a way as to pivot around an axis parallel to that of the hinges. The coupling mechanism is coupled to the shell of the appliance and to the outer door in such a way that the outer door is forced to one side and away from the axis of the hinges when the inner door is opened.

A furniture hinge for two housing parts has a housing mounted on one furniture part, a hinge arm mounted on the other furniture part, two pivotable hinge plates pivotally connecting the housing with the hinge arm, a spring which forms a locking device, a cylinder-and-piston unit having a piston pivotally mounted on the hinge arm and a brake cylinder slidably movable relative to the piston under the action of a cam lever mounted on one of the hinge plates and arranged to move the brake cylinder relative to the piston, wherein the sliding surface of the brake cylinder and/or the piston has a friction-increasing coating.

Spring biased furniture hinge having a brake mechanism

The open front of the housing of a cabinet is flanked by a vertical strip having a front surface and a second surface adjacent to the open front and making with the front surface an angle of 90 degrees. The strip carries a door panel one vertical marginal portion of which is coupled to the strip by one or more hinges each having a first leaf recessed into the marginal portion of the panel, a second leaf adjacent to the second surface of the strip, and a bracket which is secured to the strip and supports the second leaf. A first section of the bracket overlies a portion of the front surface of the strip, and a second section of the bracket overlies a portion of the second surface of the strip. The second section has holes for fasteners which connect the bracket to the strip. The two mutually inclined sections of the bracket reduce the likelihood of separation of the hinge from the housing.
