A pipe cutter comprises a rotary cutting device having a cutter, two semi-cylindrical shells connected by a hinge, and a thrust bar connected between the handles for controlling the gripping force of the shells. The shells have jaw inserts with slots and ridges on their outer periphery to alter their resilient behavior during use.

The invention concerns a pipe cleaning machine for rotating cleaning spirals of different diameters. To adapt the container for the cleaning spiral and the machine to cleaning spirals of different diameters with a minimum of accessories, the container for the cleaning spirals is made in a known manner in the form of a guide hose, but the inside diameter of the guide hose and of its coupling to the machine is equal to or greater than the inside diameter of the hollow shaft parts of the machine which receive the cleaning spirals and a collet for adapting the machine and the guide hose to different cleaning spiral diameters is removably mounted in the coupling.

A bending device for metal pipe with and without plastic jacketing has a short cylindrical segment including a circumferential groove which determines the bending radius of the pipe to be bent and a support for holding the pipe to be bent tangentially with respect to the groove. A lever is mounted for concentric pivotable movement about the segment and a pressing block is mounted on the lever for pivotal movement about an axis parallel to the segment axis. The pressing block has a working surface which has an approximately semicircular, concave cross section in a plane disposed parallel to the pivot axis of the pressing block and the segment axis and a concave cross section in a plane disposed perpendicular to those axes.

A housing which can be positioned around the pipe to be cut, carries an adjustable cutter which has a spindle and a hollow grip handle. A separable deburring tool for removing the internal burr that remains after the pipe is cut fits into the hollow grip handle.

An expanding head for pipe end enlarging tools which have a tool body including a cylindrical end portion and a removable mandrel having a tapered end extending through the cylindrical end portion of the body and axially movable therein. The expanding head comprises a plurality of exchangeable segmental expanding elements each having a flange segment which together form a radially outwardly extending annular flange. The segments are connected together to unite them as a self-contained set and for radial movement in response to axial movement of the mandrel when in use. The segments are connected by a spring element which surrounds the segments at the annular flange and clamps them against each other and against the mandrel. The segments are removably connected to the cylndrical portion of the tool body without detachment of the spring element to maintain the segments in the self-contained set. This removable connection is carried out by a sleeve connectable to the cylindrical portion of the tool body coaxially with the mandrel and having an inwardly extending annular flange positionable behind the annular flange of the segments to coact therewith to mount the segments in position around the mandrel.

Expanding head for pipe end enlarging tools

A device for mounting exchangeable flanged sets of expanding elements on a tool for enlarging the ends of pipes. The tool comprises a tool body having an expanding mandrel and a removable cap for retaining the sets of elements on the mandrel. The device comprises a carrier having a plurality of orifices each for the insertion of one set of expanding elements. The carrier is removably mounted on the tool body and the sets of expanding elements are releasably retained in the orifices.
