A ribbon-shaped substrate and at least one superconductive layer form a multifilament conductor in which the superconductive layer is divided into filaments. The ribbon-shaped substrate has a first direction parallel to the longitudinal direction thereof, and the at least one filament has a second direction parallel to the longitudinal direction thereof. The first and second directions form an angle not equal to zero. The filaments of the multifilament conductor can be configured on the front and back of the conductor and be electrically connected to each other such that a transposed conductor is created.

An endoscopy capsule contains an induction coil that is elongated along a longitudinal axis thereof, the endoscopy coil supplying power to components within the endoscopy capsule. A magnetic element in the endoscopy capsule has a magnetic dipole moment and interacts with an external magnetic field to navigate the endoscopy capsule within the body of a subject. The magnetic element is oriented so that the magnetic dipole element is aligned perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the induction coil. The endoscopy capsule has a cross-sectional area, in a plane having a normal aligned in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the induction coil, which contains both a cross-section through the magnetic element and a cross-section through the induction coil. The magnetic element has a length along the longitudinal axis of the induction coil so that the magnetic element projects beyond the induction coil at each end thereof.

Endoscopic capsule

The magnetic bearing device contains soft-magnetic rotor disc elements, which radially engage inside one another, and soft-magnetic stator disc elements. These elements are, on their sides facing one another, provided with annular tooth-like projections that are opposite one another on either side of an air gap. In addition, magnetic field generators for generating a magnetic flux oriented in an axial direction between the disc elements are assigned to the rotor disc elements or to the stator disc elements.

Radial, soft magnetic rotor disk elements which engage in each other and soft magnetic stator disk elements form a magnetic bearing device. The elements are provided with teeth-like extensions which are arranged opposite to each other over an air gap on sides which are oriented towards each other. Magnetic fields, which may be produced by permanent magnets or electromagnets, are assigned to the stator disk elements to produce a magnetic maintaining flow which is oriented in an axial direction between the disk elements for radial adjustment. An electromagnetic winding is also provided in the region of the central plane of the bearing device for axial adjustment, which enables a magnetic control flow, which superimposes the magnetic maintaining flow, to be produced.

A machine has an uncooled rotor body, which is mounted to rotate about a rotational axis, and has a superconducting rotor winding that is located in at least one cryostat and is cooled by a coolant. To facilitate the assembly of the winding and the cryostat, the exterior of the rotor body is provided with flattened sections, which accommodate at least one cryostat. At least one coil of the rotor winding is located in a retaining device that essentially only absorbs tensile stress. Said tensile stress absorption of the retaining device is thus carried out in the flattened sections of the rotor body. HTS material is preferably used for the rotor conductors.

A magnetic body is displaceable in a contact-free manner in a working chamber by the use of a magnetic coil system composed of fourteen individually controllable coils. Three magnetic field components and five magnetic field gradients are produced. Apart from two individual coils in the coil system, the other coils, which may be saddle-shaped coils, are arranged on lateral tubular surfaces surrounding the working chamber.

A magnetically navigable device has a magnet element with a greater extent in one direction than at right angles thereto. The magnet element is arranged asymmetrically with respect to a central axis of the device which points in the direction in which the magnet element extends. The device may be, for example, a video capsule from medical technology, such as for endoscopy.

A magnetic body is to be moved in a contactless fashion in a working space with the aid of the magnet coil system composed of fourteen individually drivable individual coils. The coil system is to be used for this purpose to produce three magnetic field components and five magnetic field gradients. The individual coils are preferably arranged on end-face or lateral surfaces situated oppositely in pairs, and on a tubular peripheral surface surrounding the working space.

A flux pump of the rectifier type having high-temperature superconductors with switches, which can be controlled by way of a heater, in particular with trigger pulses D' and self-stabilization in time with the rectifier is disclosed. An arrangement of the flux pump and a superconductor electromagnet, which may be supplied using the flux pump, may be integrated in a common cryostat housing.

Superconducting electrical machines, for example motors or generators, especially high-temperature superconducting machines, include a rotor equipped with superconductors, especially high-temperature superconductors. They further include a rotor cryostat, a rotor shaft and a cryostatic link including a cryostatic conductor between the cryostat and a frigorific apparatus, and a non-superconducting stator. The machines are adapted to be resistant to shocks as required for navy ships. The stator, the rotor and the cryostat are motion-decoupled from an outer machine housing and the rotor shaft by elastic elements. In one embodiment, the machine housing is configured as a thruster housing and is elastically linked with the stern of the ship.

Superconducting electrical machines for use in navy ships

A boat propulsion system includes at least one propeller, at least one electric motor by which the at least one propeller can be driven, and one converter-fed power supply unit. The at least one electric motor can be supplied with electric power by the power supply unit which includes at least one prime mover and at least one generator powered by the prime mover. The at least one electric motor and the at least one generator of the power supply unit may be embodied as three-phase synchronous machines. In order to reduce the volume and weight of such a boat propulsion system while increasing its effectiveness, at least one of the electric motor and the at least one generator configured as a three-phase synchronous machine, includes a rotating excitation coil made of high-temperature super conductor wire. Each rotating excitation coil made of high-temperature super conductor wire is arranged in a vacuum-tight, insulated cryostat by which the rotating excitation coil made of high-temperature super conductor wire can be chilled to a temperature of 15 to 77 K.

Boat propulsion system

A ship propulsion system includes at least one marine propeller, at least one electric motor which drives the at least one marine propeller, and an inverter-fed power supply system which supplies the at least one electric motor with electric power. The power supply system includes at least one drive machine and at least one generator driven thereby. The at least one electric motor and the at least one generator are configured as three-phase synchronous machines. In order to reduce losses per kW installed power and thus to allow for a stronger energizing field in the stator winding, the at least one electric motor configured as a three-phase synchronous machine and/or the at least one generator configured as a three-phase synchronous machine of the power supply system is/are provided with an air-gap three-phase winding devoid of iron grooves as the power supply system. The bundle conductors of the winding are made from insulated thin cooper wires that are disposed in an annular gap between a rotor and a laminated iron yoke, and the air gap three phase winding is reinforced by a plastic structure and/or embedded in or impregnated with resin and to which a pertaining cooling device is connected by which the heat produced in the cooling device is dissipated.

Ship propulsion system

A device includes a flux pump and an electromagnet to be fed thereby for the production of highly constant magnetic fields of high field strength. In a flux pump of the rectifier type, switches used are MOSFETs. These MOSFETs include HTsuperconductor material at operating temperatures. Preferably, the flux pump and a coil of the electromagnet are arranged in one and the same cryostat housing.
