A sample support (, . . . ), in particular for cryopreservation of biological samples, is described and includes: a holder part () with a sample receiving chamber (), a retaining device () on which a sample can be disposed, and support connecting elements () which are directed at opposite holder part ends () and are formed to fit together so that a plurality of holder parts () can be put together. A sample store (), which includes an assemblage of a large number of such sample supports, and a method for the cryopreservation of biological samples, are also described.

Sample support and sample store, especially for the cryopreservation of biological samples

A cryopreservation storage device (), in particular for cryopreservation of biological samples, comprises a plurality of multi sample modules () being adapted for accommodating the biological samples and sample memories, a module control device () controlling an access to sample memories accommodated by the multi sample modules (), and a data interface () for accessing to the module control device (), wherein the module control device () includes a data management processor (), which can be controlled via the data interface (). Furthermore, a cryopreservation apparatus including at least one cryopreservation storage device () and a method for cryopreservation of biological samples are described.

The tool includes a tool body, whose surface at least partially contacts the cell material, and a setting device for adjusting the tool body by a continuous expansion, so that geometrical properties of the surface change and an interior of the tool body is enlarged. The setting device is adapted to expand the tool body at an advance velocity in a range from 0.1 &#x3bc;m/h to 1 mm/h.

Method and device for the formation of biological cell material

The invention relates to a method for treating a biological cell () including a cytoskeleton () enveloped by a cell membrane (). The method includes the following steps: the biological cell () and a tool () are mutually oriented such that the tool () comes into contact with the biological cell (); the tool () and the biological cell () are displaced in relation to each other; and a gap is formed in the molecular composite of the cell membrane () of the biological cell (). A microsystem adapted for dielectrophoretic manipulation of particles in a suspension liquid wherein the microsystem has a channel with channel walls and a longitudinal extension. An electrode arrangement is present which has at least one microelectrode on at least one of the channel walls. This acts to generate a field barrier which crosses the channel at least partly. The microelectrode has a band-shape or has a multitude of straight electrode sections connected to each other. The band-shape has a predetermined curvature or the straight electrode sections are arranged with predetermined different angles so that the field barrier has a predetermined curvature relative to the longitudinal extension of the channel.
