A separating device for separating a mixture of magnetizable and non-magnetizable particles contained in a suspension that is conducted in a separating channel is provided, the separating device including a laminated, ferromagnetic yoke arranged to one side of the separating channel, e.g., a yoke made of iron, having at least one magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic deflecting field and a separating element arranged at the outlet of the separating channel for separating the magnetic particles, wherein the magnetic field generating means is a coil assembly including coils equidistantly arranged in grooves of the yoke along the separating channel and which can be actuated via a control device such that a temporally variable deflecting magnetic field, substantially deflecting toward the yoke, e.g., a traveling wave, is generated, having substantially field-free regions passing over the entire length of the separating channel.

Separating device for separating a mixture

A device for the magnetic separation of a fluid including first particles to be separated of magnetic or magnetizable material and second particles of non-magnetic or non-magnetizable material may include at least two magnet arrangements for generating a magnetic induction B, which are arranged in line with one another with regard to a center axis M, wherein neighboring magnet arrangements have an opposing pole arrangement and are arranged at a distance d from each other for the generation of a cusp field. The device may also include at least one conveying line for transporting the fluid, the line having a longitudinal axis extending, at least in the region of the magnet arrangements, on a plane aligned perpendicularly in relation to the center axis M between neighboring magnet arrangements. The conveying line(s) may have at least one branch downstream of the center axis M, along the transporting direction of the fluid.

Device and method for magnetic separation of a fluid

A device for introducing dust into a molten bath of a pyrometallurgical installation is provided. An electrodeless plasma torch includes an essentially tubular housing, wherein the housing allows a passage of a carrier gas containing dust particles, and wherein the housing is coaxially surrounded by an inductive load coil which forms a heating zone.

Method and device for introducing dust into a metal melt of a pyrometallurgical installation

A method for introducing dust into a molten bath of a pyrometallurgical installation is described. According to the method, a carrier gas containing dust particles is guided through a heating zone of an electrode less plasma torch, the gas being converted to a plasma by inductive heating prior to being blown into a region of the installation which receives the molten bath.

A specific electrode arrangement for a burner already exists with which the flame of the burner is influenced by using electrical fields, whereby these electrical fields pass through only areas of the flame in which a stabilizing and pollutant-reducing action occurs. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, the electrodes used to this end simultaneously serve both as probes for detecting flame properties as well as active field electrodes for influencing the flame properties. The probe signals can react to the voltage applied in an inertia-free manner to the electrodes without the involvement of mechanical elements. According to the associated device equipped with a burner and associated electrodes and with a power supply unit, the power supply unit furnishes a voltage that varies over time, and at least one measuring transducer exists that detects the current generated in the flame by the voltage between both electrodes and provides feedback to the power supply unit after amplification.

Method and device for influencing combustion processes

A method and device are for influencing combustion processes, and include an electrical device. The electrical device engages with the flame front so that the electrical field thus produced, only penetrates areas of the flame front in which a stabilizing and harmful-substance-reducing effect is produced. The electrodes of the burner are arranged outside the region of the flame in the associated device.
