A method for the application of liquid through viscid medium onto the surface of a pre-dried material web including the steps of applying a viscid medium to at least one side of the material web, routing the material web through a press nip and supporting the material web substantially without free draw.

Method and device for single-or double-sided application

A wire section for forming a multi-ply fiber web. The wire section includes a first belt which advances a first fiber ply toward a couch roll defining a combining section. A twin-wire zone of the wire section includes first and second wires between which a second fiber ply is initially formed in a gap former. The second wire separates from the first wire and then the first wire supporting the second fiber ply meets the first belt supporting the first fiber ply at the couch roll of the combining section to form the multi-ply fiber web. The twin-wire part is arranged upstream of the combining section along the running direction of the first belt. The second fiber ply runs on the first wire into the combining section at an angle less than 90.degree. with respect to the belt entering the combining section. The path of the wires from the forming roll to the combining section is disclosed. A suction box or arrangement holds the second fiber ply to the first wire when the first and second wires separate. Dewatering foils press on the wires moving through the twin-wire zone.

A former with a sieve, preferably with a cylinder mold, is provided with an adjustable discharge aperture for a fibrous material suspension exiting from a chamber that is formed between the sieve and an upper lip formed by a flow guide plate. The upper lip has a first end facing away from the chamber and is guided in a floating manner by a pressure medium in a direction toward the sieve, as well as in the opposite direction. The upper lip is supported in a floating manner also by a pressure medium at its second end facing toward the chamber. In this way, deflections of the upper lip in the region of the inlet aperture can be largely avoided.

The present invention relates to the dryer section of a paper machine consisting of a number dryer groups having dryer cylinders and one reversal role between each two dryers within a dryer group. The dryer section may have top felted or bottom felted dryer groups. A differential pressure box may be placed between the dryer cylinders and above the reversal roles in a top-felted dryer group and between the dryer cylinders and below reversal roles in a bottom felted dryer group. Between dryer groups the transfer between top felted dryer groups can occur with either an open or closed draw. The transfer between a top felted dryer group and a bottom felted dryer group occurs with an open draw. The size of the draw can be adjustable by making one or both of the guide rolls at the transfer moveable.

A blade holder for disposing a blade proximate to a roll for transporting a continuous web of material includes a blade positioned transversely to a direction of movement of a continuous web of material. The blade tensioning device is disposed on a blade supporting beam extending transversely to the direction of movement of the web, the blade supporting beam swivelable and oscillatable transversely to the direction of movement of the web. The holder includes a supporting element and a stand having a bracket upon which a first drag bearing is disposed, the supporting element rotatably supported by the first drag bearing. A second drag bearing links the supporting element, the blade supporting beam, and a lever. The holder also includes a swiveling device for swiveling the blade supporting beam from a working position to a maintenance position and a positioning device for adjusting a blade working angle.
