The invention relates to methods for producing three-dimensional multicellular tissue and organ culture systems using multicellular mammalian cell aggregates, these systems themselves and their use for various medical purposes, in particular implantations.

The invention relates to a cooling apparatus, especially for cryogenically preserving biological samples, comprising a duct () for delivering a coolant () to a cooling chamber (), a heater () that has an adjustable first heating performance (P) for heating the coolant () delivered to the cooling chamber (), a first temperature sensor (-) for measuring the temperature (T-T) in the cooling chamber (), a second temperature sensor () for measuring the temperature (T) of the coolant () delivered to the cooling chamber (), and a regulator () for regulating the temperature. Said regulator () is embodied as a multiple regulator which detects several temperatures (T-T) as control variables and/or adjusts several heating performances (P, P) as manipulated variables. The invention further relates to a corresponding operating method.

Cooling apparatus used for cryonic preservation, and corresponding operating method

Disclosed is a method for forming epithelial cells. Said method comprises the steps of aggregating stem cells from differentiated exocrine gland tissue to obtain an organoid body and differentiating at least one portion of the organoid body or a tissue body grown therefrom to obtain epithelial cells. Also disclosed is a cultivation device, particularly for forming differential epithelial cells.

Method for the production of a cell composition containing epithelial cells

The invention relates to a cell carrier () for receiving a biological sample. Microsystem for the dielectric and optical manipulation of particles

For the cell trace based testing of biological cells, wherein the cells () are applied to an at least partially structured and/or surface modified substrate () and move adhesively over surface track regions () of the substrate while producing cell traces (,) consisting of material residues separated from the cells, cell tests are performed on the cell traces. A process for cell cultivation on biocompatible modified substrates whose surfaces are covered by cell traces is also described.

Processes for cell traced based testing of biological cells

Disclosed is a process for manipulating microscopic dielectric particles in which particles are exposed to an electric field. In disadvantaged processes the particles are exposed to inhomogeneous electric field and are polarized by them. The polarized particles are moved in the direction of higher field strength. These processes permit no reversal of the traveling direction of the particles. The particles are enriched at the electrode so that they cannot be retained in free space. In the invented process the particles are exposed to high-frequency field traveling in one or more prescribed direction, by which the particles are subject to a force which sets them in a motion that is strongly synchronous to the field. With the aid of a device for carrying out the invented process, the particles can be manipulated very flexibly. By means of linearly or circularly disposed electrodes, the particles can be moved on linear paths in any direction including through branched microstructures, they can be separated according to their dielectric properties and retained without contact. Applications are in the fields of biotechnology and molecular separation, focussing and microtransport technology.
