A connector includes a connector housing having a coupling side for coupling with a complementary connector along a connection direction and a lever assembly including a lever for coupling with the complementary connector. The lever is pivotable around an axis of rotation on the connector housing. The axis of rotation extends essentially perpendicular to the connection direction. The lever extends in at least one position in the connection direction away from the axis of rotation toward the coupling side. The lever assembly has an extension that is movable relative to the lever and that extends the lever assembly in an extended state away from the axis of rotation.

The invention relates to a receptacle for standard connections in industrial information networks, in particular an RJ45 jack for Ethernet-based applications. The receptacle includes a socket which opens against a plug-in direction and a plurality of spring contacts. The spring contacts each form a first inclined lead in surface projecting into the socket in the plug-in direction. To allow a downwardly compatible, vibration-resistant connection, it is proposed according to the invention that the spring contacts each form a further second inclined lead in surface offset in the plug-in direction from the first inclined lead in surface.

An electrical contact element which is suitable for attaching and contacting in metallized bores, for example of a printed-circuit board, is specified; the contact element having a pressing-in region and a connection region, which adjoins the pressing-region via a transitional region; the pressing-in region comprising two layers of a metal sheet; the layers being arranged on each other symmetrically with respect to a plane between the layers, each of the layers having a slot formed between two contact limbs, the layers being curved away from each other, at least in the region of the slot, with the outer sides of the contact limbs diverging.

A connector for connection to bus conductors comprises terminals that have a pair of contact sections mounted on supple springs. The contact sections are for biasing against exposed conductors of a bus line. The redundancy provided by the two remotely spaced contact sections ensures high connection reliability, in particular in view of the exposure of the bus line conductors to dirt or damage to the contact surface.

A connector for mounting to a panel is provided with a pair of centering springs mounted on opposed ends of the connector to support platforms facing in opposed directions. The centering spring is a unitary stamped and formed sheet metal part comprising a U-shaped base section and a resilient centering section having concave portions for fitting around a cylindrical shaft of a mounting screw. Mounting off the connector to the panel is accomplished by first urging the screw cylindrical shaft between the resilient section until it is seated between the concave portion of the centering spring. The connector can then be screwed onto the panel until a bush thereof abuts the panel, thereby allowing floating movement of the connector. Movement of the connector with respect to the panel is countered by the centering spring.

An electrical connector comprises a housing and terminals mounted therein, the terminals comprising contact tails for soldered connection to a printed circuit board. The contact tails have sealing material deposited thereon for sealing between the contact tail and housing to prevent solder and flux wicking onto contact sections of the terminals. The concept also advantageously provides sealing of the connector from the environment, whilst using minimal quantities of sealing material and having very small sealing surfaces for increased reliability thereof.

A data communications outlet kit is shown comprising a mounting frame, an outlet connector module and an external outlet cover. The outlet connector module comprises a housing, an edge connector and a connector insert, whereby the edge connector is for electrical connection between a data communications cable and the insert and the insert is for making electrical connection between the edge connector and an external connector, such as a modular plug. The outlet connector housing comprises an outlet housing box integrally molded to an outlet box cover by thin breakable webs, and to the cover are integrally molded two strain relief means that can be broken off the cover, one for a smaller cable diameter range and the other for a larger cable diameter range. Tapered pegs provisionally support the strain relief means to the cover while mounting the cover to the rear of the outlet housing box, engaging in holes in the strain relief means such that the strain relief means can be held thereon with a wedge effect. The insert is inserted in a front cavity portion of the outer housing box. The assembled outlet connector can be securely mounted to the outlet mounting cover by tilting the outlet connector such that the diagonal formed by an upper rear corner and a lower front corner of the outlet connector is roughly parallel to the plane of a base of the outlet cover.

An electrical connector (2) comprising rows of terminals (6) therein has capacitance filter elements (36,38) bonded to side walls (14,16) thereof. The filter elements are comprised of a thin dielectric film laminated on either side with conductive material, the one side serving as a ground electrode and the other side divided into a plurality of signal electrodes separated by gaps formed by conventional etching process. The filter elements also have connection tabs (48,49) extending from a lower end (50) thereof, each tab connected to a separate electrode (42,44) and electrically connected to corresponding terminals (6) of the connector (2). The invention therefore provides for a readily manufacturable and cost effective filtered connector for filtering unwanted frequency components of a signal to be carried, the filter being mountable to the connector housing in an unobtrusive and compact manner.
