Seat-belt retractor

A vehicle sensitive retractor control system having reduced sensitivity to Z-axis acceleration experienced during normal driving. The retractor control system incorporates a rolling mass and a locking lever which, in a resting position, are arranged such that the locking lever does not engage a ratchet wheel of a seat belt retractor spool. In response to accelerations in the horizontal plane, the rolling ball mass becomes unseated from its resting position and allows the locking lever to rotate due to the position of its center of gravity relative to its pivot point allowing it to pivot and lock the retractor. In response to Z-axis acceleration, the rolling mass is prevented from contacting the locking lever by a mass restrictor.

Vehicle sensitive seat belt retractor control with suppressed Z-axis sensitivity

A belt retractor () having a belt reel (), a seat belt () which can be wound thereon to form a belt reel, and at least one first assembly, the first assembly being arranged coaxially with the axis of rotation of the belt reel () and in series with the belt reel (). Belt retractor with a self-aligning sensor device sensitive to vehicle accelerations

A seat belt retractor includes a belt shaft pivot-mounted in a retractor frame, wherein the belt shaft shows an at least two-part design with a first and a second part. A load limiting device includes at least two parts, which can be moved relative to each other and have teeth, with which they alternately engage and disengage. Each of the parts of the load limiting device is allocated to a different part of the belt shaft. A tensioning device is located on the second part of the belt shaft and, upon activation, abruptly drives the belt shaft in the winding direction. One of the parts of the load limiting device, via a transmission device, is connected in a rotationally-fixed manner to the second part of the belt shaft through the first part, which is a hollow shaft.

Seat belt retractor having an inertia sensor with a pivotal sensor housing

A seat belt retractor with a switchable load limiting device for a safety belt of a motor vehicle with a belt shaft and a locking device which upon actuation locks the belt shaft in the belt extraction direction. The load limiting device is located in the force flow between the belt shaft and the locking device between the load limiting levels. A switching device is used for switching the load limiting device. The switching device includes a gas generator for releasing a gas flow into a pressure chamber and an expandable hollow pot which can be driven by the gas flow. The expandable hollow pot is attached to the gas generator in a gas-proof manner and forms the pressure chamber.

A seat belt retractor with a load limiting device and a tensioning device includes a two-part belt shaft with a first part (), upon which the belt can be wound, and a second part (), which can be locked in a vehicle-fixed manner in a frame () of the seat belt retractor. Belt retractor having a force limitation device and a tightening device

Described is a belt tensioner for a seat belt having a belt retractor, a tensioner pinion () non-rotatably connected to the belt retractor, a tube () having a pyrotechnical gas generator arranged therein, and a plurality of mass bodies () driven by the pressure generated by the gas generator. The mass bodies () engage with the tensioner pinion () in a force transmitting manner and drive the belt retractor in the winding direction. A first and a second section () of the tube () run parallel to each other. A third section () with a curved course that projects out of the plane (E) connects the first and second sections, thereby creating a space () between the first, second and third sections (), for accommodating at least one of the mass bodies ().

Belt tensioner for a belt retractor

A safety belt roll-up mechanism is provided, and includes a force limitation device that operates in a multi-stage manner and has a two-stage torque rod and a pyrotechnically operating switching device that couples the torque rod, in various clamping lengths, with a belt shaft. The extent of the belt strap unwound from the belt shaft is utilized for actuation of the force limitation device. A ratchet wheel is connected to the belt shaft via a reduction gear mechanism. A portion of the periphery of the ratchet wheel has a toothing for engaging the reduction gear mechanism. A further portion of the periphery of the ratchet wheel has a switching contour that rests against a contact pin of an electric switch. The switching contour has a profile that effects the connection or disconnection of the switching device for the torque rod.
