A method for volume compensation of a fluid-filled first chamber accommodating a first electrical appliance that is electrically connected by a high-voltage electrical connector to a second electrical appliance located in a fluid-filled second chamber. The first chamber is volume compensated to the second chamber via the electrical connector by a volume compensating arrangement integrated in the electrical connector. A high-voltage electrical connector with a volume compensating arrangement and an electrical assembly provided with such a connector.

High-voltage electrical connector

A plug-in termination of a single-phase conductor in a power cable termination assembly for submerged use. A first barrier separates an outer pressure-compensated housing from the sea. A second barrier separates an inner pressure-compensated housing from the outer pressure-compensated housing. The single-phase conductor runs through the first and second barriers and is secured in the inner pressure-compensated housing by its end being terminated within an insulator body insertable into the inner housing. The unsheathed conductor end is electrically connected within the insulator body to a conducting pin which is fixedly embedded by molding into the insulator body.

Plug-in termination of a power cable for subsea appliances

An arrangement and a method for use in installation procedures for subsea transformers. A central, hole or tube is included in an encapsulation enclosing a transformer that is to be installed. Three core elements of the transformer are arranged symmetrically around the hole or tube forming a triangle or a delta. The transformer is lowered towards a a foundation placed on the sea floor wherein a guide pin is mounted. When the transformer has found its way to the foundation, the guide pin will enter the tube, and the transformer will slide down onto the guide line pin. The tube is terminated by a funnel shaped opening, thus making it easier not to miss the guide pin by the tube opening. The transformer is horizontally oriented by means of orientation keys localized within the tube.

Arrangement and method for installing a subsea transformer

A subsea electrical power distribution system including a first chamber () housing a transformer, a second chamber () housing a power distribution system with busbars () for distribution of power to individual consumers connected to said busbars via connectors (). The interface between the first and second chamber includes a flexible membrane () allowing the oil in the first chamber to expand into the second chamber and vice versa. The second chamber being connected to an external volume expansion chamber () allowing the pressure in the second chamber to balance against the pressure of the ambient sea.
