A cutter housing for use in a power-driven lawn mower has a substantially cylindrical skirt wall and a top wall covering the upper end of the skirt wall. The top wall has a substantially central recess for accomodating the engine of the lawn mower and includes a pair of half members positioned one on each side of the recess and lying substantially flush with each other in symmetrical and contiguous relation. The cutter housing also has a rear housing portion extending rearwardly in contiguous relation to the skirt wall and the top wall, and a partition disposed in the rear housing portion and dividing the rear housing portion into two spaces. The skirt wall, the top wall, the rear housing portion, and the partition are integrally molded of synthetic resin.

Cutter housing for power-driven lawn mower

A riding type mower includes steered front wheels and driven rear wheels arranged in the front and rear parts of a vehicle body, respectively, a mowing cutter mechanism disposed under the vehicle body, a driver's seat disposed on the vehicle body, and an engine for driving the rear wheel and the mowing cutter mechanism. The driver's seat is disposed substantially at the longitudinally central part of the vehicle body, the engine is disposed below the driver seat, a fuel supply system of the engine is disposed at one side of the engine, and an exhaust system of the engine is disposed at the other side of the engine. Power of the engine is transmitted through a pulley belt to an input shaft of a transmission gearing for the rear wheels, with the transmission gearing being disposed behind a rear axle, and concurrently from the input shaft through another pulley belt to the cutter mechanism which is level-adjustably disposed substantially in the longitudinal central part of the vehicle body. The cutter mechanism housing has a maximum transverse width of dimension less than the distance within the respective transversely outside faces of the rear wheels. The cutter housing is disposed substantially in the longitudinally central part of the vehicle body, while the engine is disposed within a contour of the cutter housing as viewed from above.

Riding type mower

A versatile cultivator is provided wherein to a transmission mechanism for transmitting the power of an engine to a cultivating mechanism is operatively connected a power take-off shaft which projects from a lower front portion of a transmission housing accommodating therein the transmission mechanism, and wherein a running wheel unit is removably attached to the lower front portion of the transmission housing, the wheel unit having running wheels rotatably mounted on lateral sides of the front end thereof while being provided with an interlocking mechanism for linking the running wheels to the power take-off shaft. The cultivator can either be used as a rototiller or as a rotary cultivator, simply by mounting or dismounting the running wheel unit.

Cultivator

The present invention is directed to a power transmission apparatus for a power driven lawn mower. The lawn mower has a housing, an engine mounted on the housing, a moving blade coupled to the engine and wheels which are swingably mounted on the housing. The swinging of the wheels moves the housing towards and way from the ground in order to raise and lower the housing to thereby raise and lower the lawn mower blade. The power transmission apparatus comprises a transmission mechanism and a transmission chamber for housing the transmission mchanism, the chamber including a guide structure. The transmission mechanism includes a drive shaft coupled to the engine and a single reduction gear mechanism coupled to the drive shaft and the wheels for transmitting the rotation of the drive shaft to the wheels. The reduction gear mechanism includes an engaging structure for engaging the guide structure in the chamber wherein the swinging movement of the wheels causes a corresponding movement of the reduction gear mechanism. The corresponding movement of the reduction gear mechanism is guided by the movement of the engaging structure in the guide structure.

Power transmission apparatus in mobile type lawn mower

A vertical engine type cultivator of the type that has an internal combustion engine on an upper side, a wheel shaft on a lower side and an operational handle on a rear side. The engine is formed such that the engine main body thereof is provided with a vertically directional crankshaft extending downwards through an oil case. A frame casing on the lower side of the oil case and a clutch mechanism interposed between the crankshaft and an output shaft disposed below the crankshaft is contained in the frame casing. An operational member for the clutch mechanism is provided on the oil case side.
