A display device divides a display panel into a skin region and a non-skin region different from the skin region based on input image data, calculates a saturation weight of the skin region and a saturation weight of the non-skin region, calculates the saturation weight of the non-skin area based on the input image data, and calculates a value weight and a hue weight based on the input image data. The saturation compensation value is determined based on a saturation value of the input image data, the saturation weight, the value weight, and the hue weight, and a value compensation value is determined based on a value value of the input image data. The input image data is compensated based on the saturation compensation value and the value compensation value.

Display device and method of driving the same

A display apparatus includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; a data driver which applies data voltages to the pixels; a gate driver which applies gate signals to the pixels; and a driving controller which controls the data driver and the gate driver. The driving controller divides the display panel into a plurality of panel blocks, calculates a skin color inclusion ratio of each of the panel blocks based on input image data, determines at least one face region candidate block among the panel blocks based on the skin color inclusion ratio, determines a face region block of the at least one face region candidate block based on the at least one face region candidate block and face matching data, and performs image quality processing on the face region block.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device may include a display panel including pixels, and a display panel driver which drives the display panel. The display panel driver determines whether input image data displays a white image and whether the input image data displays a moving image, and adjusts an input saturation value of the input image data based on whether the input image data displays the white image and whether the input image data displays the moving image to generate correction image data.
