An antimicrobial peptide isolated from an extract from a marine invertebrate, whose amino acid sequence is as follows:

Papillosin antimicrobial peptide, a gene coding said peptide, a vector, a transformed organism and a compound containing said organism

An isolated peptide having an amino acid sequence FWGHIWNAVKRVGANALHGAVTGALS (SEQ ID No. 1), its derivatives and its fragments containing at least 7 amino acids.

Anti-microbial peptide known as halocyntin, gene coding for said peptide, vector, transformed organism and composition containing said peptide

The invention concerns an antimicrobial peptide, called myticin, characterised in that it can be obtained from a bivalve mollusc shellfish, and its molecular mass is about 4.5 kDa; its pI is about 8.7; it comprises 8 cystein radicals. The invention also concerns its preparation and its uses. The invention further concerns a nucleic acid coding for said peptide.
