The present invention pertains to composition suitable for manufacturing membranes based on vinylidene fluoride (VDF) polymers, to porous membranes thereof, to methods for their manufacture and to uses thereof, especially for the filtration of water phases. Said composition comprising vinylidene fluoride (VDF) polymers and polymer additives comprising zwitterionic moieties delivers outstanding hydrophilization performances of manufactured membranes.

Described herein is a method for treatment of at least one surface of a substrate at least partially made of aluminum and/or an aluminum alloy, including at least a step of contacting the surface with an acidic aqueous composition (A) including one or more metal compounds (M) selected from the group of titanium compounds, zirconium compounds, and hafnium compounds and one or more linear polymers (P) containing (m1) hydroxyethyl- and/or hydroxypropyl-(meth)acrylate, (m2) vinylphosphonic acid, and (m3) (meth)acrylic acid in form of their polymerized monomeric units, the one or more linear polymers (P) being included in the acidic aqueous composition (A) in an amount of 50 to 5000 ppm. Also described herein is an acidic aqueous composition (A), a master batch to produce the acidic aqueous composition (A), a method of using the acidic aqueous composition (A) for treating surfaces, and substrates comprising the treated surfaces.

Method for treating surfaces of aluminum containing substrates

The instant invention concerns the use of polymers obtained by radical copolymerization of a mixture of (1) acrylic acid; (2) methacrylic acid; and (3) at least one allylcatechol selected from 4-allylbenzene-1,2-diol, 3-allylbenzene-1,2-diol; methylated forms thereof (eugenols); and mixtures thereof, for treating a metallic surface intended to be adhesive-bonded to another surface, in order to impart a resistance to the adhesive failure to the resulting bonding.

Polymers for metal surface treatment

The instant invention concerns the use of at least one polymer P obtained by radical copolymerization of a mixture of (i) acrylic acid; (ii) methacrylic acid; and (iii) at least one 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate phosphate for treating a metallic surface intended to be adhesive-bonded to another surface, in order to impart a resistance to the adhesive failure to the resulting bonding.

Metal surface treatment

Provided are polymers obtained by radical copolymerization of a mixture of (1) acrylic acid; (2) methacrylic acid; and (3) at least one allylcatechol selected from 4-allylbenzene-1,2-diol, 3-allylbenzene-1,2-diol and mixtures thereof. Provided herein is a method for pretreating aluminum materials, particularly aluminum wheels, wherein an aluminum material is successively i) cleaned and subsequently rinsed, ii) optionally subjected to alkaline pickling and subsequently rinsed, iii) optionally contacted with an aqueous composition comprising at least one mineral acid, iv) optionally rinsed and v) contacted with an acidic aqueous composition comprising a) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium and hafnium compounds and b) at least one linear terpolymer prepared by controlled radical polymerisation and comprising vinylphosphonic acid monomeric units, hydroxylethyl- and/or hydroxylpropyl-(meth)acrylate monomeric units and (meth)acrylic acid monomeric units, vi) optionally rinsed, vii) optionally contacted with another aqueous composition, viii) optionally rinsed and ix) optionally dried. Further provided herein is a corresponding composition as well as the use of the materials treated according to the method.
