A hearing aid includes a microphone for converting sound into an audio input signal, a hearing loss processor, an adaptive feedback suppressor configured for generation of a feedback suppression signal by modelling a feedback signal path of the hearing aid, a subtractor coupled to an output of the adaptive feedback suppressor, wherein the subtractor is configured for subtracting the feedback suppression signal from the audio input signal, and outputting a feedback compensated audio signal to the hearing loss processor, and wherein the hearing loss processor is configured for processing the feedback compensated audio signal in accordance with a hearing loss of a user of the hearing aid, a synthesizer configured for generation of a synthesized signal based at least on a sound model and the audio input signal, and a receiver for generating an output sound signal based at least on the synthesized signal.

Hearing aid with improved localization

A binaural hearing aid system includes a first hearing aid and a second hearing aid, each of which comprising a processor that is configured to process the digital input signal in accordance with a signal processing algorithm into a processed digital output signal, the processor including a compressor for compensation of dynamic range hearing loss based on the signal level, wherein wireless data communication of signal parameter from one of the first and the second hearing aids is performed at a data transmission rate with a time period between consecutive transmissions of the signal parameter from the one of the first and second hearing aids that is longer than an attack and release time of at least one of the compressors.

Binaural compressor preserving directional cues

A hearing aid includes: a cue filter having an input that is provided with an output from the BTE sound input transducer; an adaptive feedback canceller configured to provide an output modelling a feedback path between the output transducer and the BTE sound input transducer, wherein the output modelling the feedback path is provided to a subtractor for subtraction of the output modelling the feedback path from the output of the BTE sound input transducer to obtain a difference, the subtractor outputting the difference to the cue filter; and a feedback and cue controller connected to the adaptive feedback canceller and the cue filter, wherein the feedback and cue controller is configured to control the cue filter to reduce a difference between an output of the ITE microphone and a combined output that is obtained using at least the cue filter.

A hearing aid includes: a feedback monitor connected to the adaptive feedback canceller and configured to monitor a state of feedback and having an output providing an indication of the state of feedback; and a cue controller connected to the feedback monitor and the at least one adaptive cue filter, and configured to control, in response to an output of the feedback monitor, the at least one adaptive cue filter so that the difference between the output of the at least one ITE microphone and the combined output of the at least one adaptive cue filter is reduced.

A BTE hearing aid includes a BTE hearing aid housing, at least one BTE sound input transducer, a processor configured to generate a hearing loss compensated output signal, a sound signal transmission member for transmission of a signal from a sound output of the BTE hearing aid housing to an ear canal of a user at a second end of the sound signal transmission member, an earpiece configured to be inserted in the ear canal, an output transducer, and an ITE microphone housing accommodating at least one ITE microphone, wherein the ITE microphone housing is configured to be positioned in an outer ear, wherein the processor is further configured for processing an audio signal from the at least one ITE microphone and an audio signal from the at least one BTE sound input transducer in such a way that the hearing loss compensated output signal substantially preserves spatial cues.

A hearing aid includes a microphone for converting sound into an audio input signal, a hearing loss processor configured for processing the audio input signal or a signal derived from the audio input signal in accordance with a hearing loss of a user of the hearing aid, a synthesizer configured for generation of a synthesized signal based at least on a sound model and the audio input signal, the synthesizer comprising a noise generator configured for excitation of the sound model for generation of the synthesized signal including synthesized vowels, and a receiver for generating an output sound signal based at least on the synthesized signal.
