The invention is directed to a CO to COcombustion promoter comprising one or more porous particles having a diameter of less than 1 mm and comprising: a) one or more of silica, alumina, zeolite, silica sol, alumina sol, pseudo-boehmite alumina, and/or a clay-based matrix; and b) one or more Group VIII noble metals distributed in the porous particle such that the concentration of the one or more Group VIII noble metals increases towards the outer surface of the porous particle relative to the center of the porous particle.

CO to COcombustion promoter

The invention is directed to compositions comprising a CO to COcombustion promoter at least one porous particle having a diameter of less than 1 mm and comprising: a) one or more of silica, alumina, zeolite, silica sol, alumina sol, pseudo-boehmite alumina, and/or a clay-based matrix; and b) one or more Group VIII noble metals distributed in the porous particle such that at least 60% of the one or more Group VIII noble metals is present in an outer region of the porous particle; and method of using the same.

The invention is directed to a CO to COcombustion promoter comprising microsphere sized porous silica and/or alumina comprising particles further comprising on or more Group VIII noble metals wherein the noble metal is distributed in the particle as an eggshell such that a higher content of noble metal is present in the outer region of the particle as compared to the content of noble metal in the center of the particle.

Collection enhanced materials, flue gas additives, and methods of making the enhanced materials and flue gas additives are provided. In one embodiment, a down stream addition system configured to control material passing through a metering device from a vessel to a gaseous exhaust path extending between a unit and an exhaust flue of the unit is provided. In alternative embodiments, methods are provided for introducing at least one of a flue gas additive and a collection enhanced material to a gaseous exhaust stream exiting a unit; exposing and removing at least a portion of at least one a of flue gas additive and a collection enhanced material from a gaseous exhaust stream exiting a unit prior to entering an exhaust flue; and recycling at least a portion of material removed a from a gaseous exhaust stream exiting a unit back to the gaseous exhaust stream without passing through the unit.
