A motor apparatus includes a motor having a first active part and a second active part, the first active part having a plurality of separately controllable windings, a control unit comprising a processing unit and for each of one or more of the windings a motor module, wherein the motor module has a power converter. The motor apparatus further has and a sensor device constructed to supply a position signal indicative of a position of the first active part relative to the second active part, wherein one of the motor modules is a master module, which receives the position signal directly from the sensor device as the only one of the motor modules, and transmits an item of position information corresponding to the position signal to the processing unit, and wherein another one of the motor modules is a slave module, which receives directly from the processing unit a single item of information regarding the position of the first active part relative to the second active part and controls the one or more windings as a function of the single item of information.

Motor apparatus having separate winding systems and master module

In a transfer device for workpiece carriers (), with a number of segments () in which a control unit () respectively activates a linear motor (), in a phase of the transfer of the workpiece carrier () from a first segment () to a neighbouring segment () synchronization of the linear motors () is no longer effected on the basis of control commands of a central controller but instead the control unit () of the first segment () makes itself the master (S) and subjugates the control unit () of the neighbouring segment () as the slave (S). A position measuring device () makes it possible for the master control unit () to carry out speed control for the workpiece carrier (). The control unit () receives information on the commutation angle and the actual force value and can therefore issue the control commands to the associated linear motor () for the control process.

Transfer apparatus for workpiece carriers

A method for identifying a control path of a controlled system, and more particularly to a method for identifying a control path in the presence of deterministic perturbations is described. At least one deterministic perturbation correcting signal is determined in a first identification process, and the perturbation correcting signal is stored in the form of a function. A control path of the controlled system is identified in a second identification process by adding to the controlled system the at least one stored deterministic perturbation correcting signal with a negative feedback. The method can be used with machine tools, production machines and/or robots which demand a high control accuracy and/or a high-quality control characteristic. In particular, perturbation effects due to slot latching in motors, in particular linear motors, can be minimized.
