Methods and algorithms for generating identical symmetrical cryptographic keys. In a method for generating a symmetrical cryptographic key, a first profile is generated, the first profile comprising a series of data points collected over a first period of time. A start time of the first profile is identified and the first profile divided into a sequence of time-based segments, each time-based segment comprising at least one data point. A first symmetrical cryptographic key is calculated from the sequence of time-based segments, and the first symmetrical cryptographic key is stored for at least one of encrypting and decrypting data in cooperation with a second symmetrical cryptographic key substantially identical to the first symmetrical cryptographic key.

Methods for the generation of identical symmetrical cryptographic keys

Systems for exchanging encrypted data communications between devices. A system can comprise a first device and a second device. The first device can comprise a first sensor adapted to create a first data profile based at least in part on a sensed condition, and a first transceiver integrated with the first sensor and adapted to generate a first cryptographic key from the first data profile. The second device can comprise a second sensor adapted to create a second data profile based at least in part on the sensed condition, the second data profile being substantially similar to the first data profile, and a second transceiver integrated with the second sensor and adapted to generate a second cryptographic key from the second data profile, the first and second cryptographic keys comprising a set of identical cryptographic keys.

Integrated data transceiver and sensor for the generation of a symmetrical cryptographic key

Transceiver for controlling an application device by means of an external control device. The transceiver has a control unit, a memory unit coupled to the control unit, a control interface coupled to the control unit, a communication interface coupled to the control unit, wherein the application device is controllable using the external control device via the control interface and via the communication interface using the control unit, and an application control program stored in the memory unit, wherein the application control program is communicated to the external control device via the communication interface.

Control system and method for operating a transceiver

A communication system is enclosed. In one embodiment, the communication system includes a communication device configured to puts itself into an activated state or into a deactivated state at alternate times. The communication device receives time information in a first operating state of the activated state, takes the received time information as a basis for ascertaining the later time at which useful information is transmitted to the communication device, receives the useful information at the later time in a second operating state of the activated state, and with individual components of the communication device being able to be put into an activated state or into a deactivated state independently of one another.

Apparatus for generating a random number includes a sampler that samples a noise signal to obtain a noise signal sample, and a provider that provides at least three noise signal threshold values selected such that a first probability of the noise signal sample being between the first and second threshold values, and a second probability of the noise signal sample being between the second and third threshold values are different from each other by less than a predetermined differential value or are identical. An outputter outputs the random number such that when the noise signal sample is between the first and second threshold values, a first digit of a random number is occupied by a first logical state, whereas a second digit is occupied with a different logical state, so that a random number which is at least 2 bits wide results from one noise signal sample.

Apparatus and method for generating a random number

Sensor arrangement having row and column lines arranged in first and second directions, respectively, sensor arrays arranged in crossover regions of the row and column lines, a detector, and a decoding device. The sensor arrays have a coupling device for electrically coupling respective row and column lines, and a sensor element to influence electric current flow through the coupling device. The detector is electrically coupled to a respective end section of at least a portion of the row and column lines, and detects a respective accumulative current flow from the individual electrical current flows provided by the sensor arrays of the respective lines. The decoding device is coupled to the row and column lines, and evaluates at least a portion of the accumulative electric current flows fed to the decoding device via the row and column lines to determine at which of the sensor elements a sensor signal is present.

Random number generator having a transistor that generates an analog random telegraph signal (RTS) having a first or second signal state, a RTS detection unit for detecting the RTS generated by the transistor, a RTS sampling unit that supersamples the RTS detected by the RTS detection unit and thus generates a digitized RTS, a signal state duration detection unit that determines, from the digitized RTS, a first time variable representing the time duration of at least one first signal state of the generated RTS and a second time variable representing the time duration of at least one second signal state of the generated RTS, and a random number conversion unit, which is coupled to the signal state duration detection unit, and that generates a random number from the first time variable and the second time variable.
