A machine for cross cutting a material web has a main frame part unitarily formed with a pair of transversely spaced main sides and with at least one main traverse extending transversely between the main sides and a secondary frame part unitarily formed with a pair of transversely spaced secondary sides and with at least one secondary traverse extending transversely between the secondary sides. The main frame part is formed at its sides with a seat on which the respective sides of the secondary frame part fit complementarily with the main and secondary traverses extending parallel to each other. Two blade drums rotatable about respective transversely extending drum axes have ends journaled in the sides at the seat. Fasteners secure the frame parts together at the seat to opposite sides of the drum ends.

In a method for winding a yarn onto a spool body, the conical spool body is driven about a longitudinal axis by a first drive unit. A yarn is guided onto the spool body by a reciprocating yarn guide thereby winding the yarn onto the spool body. A constant yarn winding speed is provided along the length of the spool body during the entire yarn winding process by adjusting the revolutions per minute of the spool body synchronously with a movement of the reciprocating yarn guide. The revolutions per minute are controlled by a computing and control unit based on the instant position of the reciprocating yarn guide and the diameter of the spool body at the instant position. The device for performing this method has a sensor for detecting the changing diameter of the spool body, and the reciprocating yarn guide has a detection device for detecting the instant position of the reciprocating yarn guide.

A device for producing a twisted yarn in a combined spinning and twisting process has two open end spinning rotors positioned in a stationary protective pot, a hollow spindle axle into which the spun yarns produced by the spinning rotors are introduced, and a yarn guide channel extending radially from the spindle axle and driven in rotation about the spindle axis for guiding the yarn formed by the spun yarns. The yarn exits from the yarn guide channel and is guided external to the protective pot counter to the guiding direction within the spindle axle to a centering point positioned on an extension of the spindle axle. A device for supplying a dissolved fiber material to the two open end spinning rotors is provided. Two slide bearings for supporting the spinning rotor shafts, an electric motor with a drive member resting at the spinning rotor shafts, and for each spinning rotor two guide rollers are arranged within the protective pot. Each pair of guide rollers forms a wedge-shaped gap in which the respective spinning rotor shaft rests. For each spinning rotor shaft the rotational axes of the motor and of the correlated guide rollers determine an isosceles triangle, whereby the bisecting line intercepting the rotational axis of the motor is positioned within the center plane of the wedge-shaped gap.

In a method for manufacturing a twisted yarn by an integrated spinning-twisting process a vacuum is generated within the spindle rotor. Individual staple fibers are fed by vacuum to at least two rotor spinning devices positioned within the spindle rotor in which individual spun yarns are spun from the individual staple fibers. The individual spun yarns are gathered and guided in a first direction through the spindle rotor in order to subject the individual spun yarns to a first twist. A radially outwardly extending yarn guide channel is connected to the hollow spindle shaft. In a method and apparatus for manufacturing a yarn from fiber material at least two spinning devices arranged adjacent to one another are provided. Fiber material is dissolved and fed to the at least two spinning devices. Each spinning device generates an individual spun fiber. The individual spun fibers are combined at the inlet opening of a hollow spindle axis to form a yarn. The yarn undergoes a two-for-one twisting operation by being passed in a first yarn feeding direction through the hollow spindle axis to an outlet opening of the hollow spindle axis, then radially guided from the outlet opening, and guided in a second yarn feeding direction counter to the first yarn feeding direction to form a yarn balloon rotating in a direction of rotation about the at least two spinning devices. A centering element is arranged on an axis extending along the hollow spindle axle so as to be spaced from the inlet opening of the hollow spindle axle. The yarn is fed from the yarn balloon via the centering element to a winding device.
