An image capturing device includes an image forming device including a sensor defining an optical reception axis, at least one reading distance, and a region framed by the sensor on a substrate at said at least one reading distance. An illumination device includes an array of adjacent light sources defining an optical illumination axis. The light sources are individually drivable, and each light source is adapted to illuminate an area of a size much smaller than the size of said region framed by the sensor. The illumination axis does not coincide with the reception axis. A driver of the light sources is adapted to drive the light sources so as to switch off at least the light sources that illuminate outside of the boundary of the region framed by the sensor on the substrate at said at least one reading distance.

Image capturing device

An apparatus for presentation reading of optical information with removable reader includes an optical information reader and a cradle or stand having a seat for seating the reader facing a predetermined optical information reading zone. The reader has an illuminator and the stand has an illuminator. A processor is configured to control a capture of an image of at least one portion of the reading zone, to analyze the image and, based on the analysis, to drive the switching on of either of the illuminator of the reader and/or the illuminator of the stand. The stand includes an optical component at the illuminator of the reader and/or at an aimer of the reader when seated in the seat, to define an aiming pattern and/or to modify the features of the illuminating beam of the reader.

An optical component of an image acquisition device includes at least two faces each having a first optically active region, the first optically active regions of the at least two faces being assigned to optical functions homologous to each other, but according to different acquisition configurations, the at least two faces defining respective reference planes, the normals to the reference planes being differently oriented.

An optical code reader of the imager type includes at least one light source and at least one illumination lens downstream of the at least one light source for projecting a predetermined illumination pattern. The at least one illumination lens comprises a first main face, wherein in a first direction, the first main face has a plurality of elementary regions, each of the elementary regions of the at least one illumination lens having a slope with respect to an optical axis of the reader that is individually calculated so that the elementary region deviates the light fraction coming from the at least one light source and incident thereon towards a specific elementary region of the illumination pattern.

An optical device which emits a laser light beam () comprises a laser light beam emission source ()(for example, a semiconductor laser diode) including a source of the laser light beam housed in a package () provided with a light beam emission window (). The invention relates to an optical device for focusing a laser beam, comprising a source of emission of a laser beam, for example a substantially elliptic and astigmatic laser beam, a focusing lens of the laser beam and first aperture adapted to select a central portion of the laser beam. The first aperture is directly applied on the focusing lens, and comprises a coating made of a substantially opaque material which are applied (for example, by spraying, sputtering, evaporation, printing, painting) on a peripheral portion of a front surface of the focusing lens so as to allow the propagation of the central portion of the laser beam and obstruct the propagation of a surrounding portion of beam. The device of the invention is extremely simple from the constructive point of view, and is inexpensive and small-sized.

A device for the aiming and the visual indication of a reading area of a coded information reader includes an emitter which emits a preferably collimated light beam towards a reading area of a coded information reader, as well as a refractive optical element. The refractive optical element deflects at least one first portion of the light beam so as to generate at least two different beam portions active on at least two different zones of the reading area along at least two different optical paths. The refractive optical element includes opposed first and second faces which respectively collect the light beam and project the at least two beam portions onto the reading area. The second face includes at least one (preferably more than one) first surface portion inclined by a predetermined angle &#x3b1; with respect to the first face and adapted to deflect the at least one first light beam portion by a predetermined deflection angle &#x3b2; with respect to the optical axis Z. The device is adapted to be mounted on a coded information reader to provide the operator with a visual indication of the reading area framed by the reader, before carrying out the reading of the information contained in the area.

The invention relates to an optical device for focusing a substantially elliptical laser beam comprising: means for collimating a substantially elliptical laser beam so to generate a collimated beam of substantially elliptical profile; means for circularizing the collimated beam so to generate a beam of substantially circularized profile; and means for focusing the circularized beam. The device according to the invention allows on one side to achieve better results in terms of increasing the depth of focus and overall efficiency of the system, and on the other side to allow reading of optical codes also when these are tilted with respect to the scan direction of an angle up to 45&deg; (tilt angle).
