A robust, two component adhesive for laminating flexible packaging material comprising a mixture of Component A and Component B. Component A comprises an isocyanate-functionalized compound. Component B comprises a mixture of a high functionality polyol containing at least four hydroxyl groups per molecule with at least two primary OH groups on the molecule and two secondary OH groups on the molecule and a trifunctional polyol containing three OH groups on the molecule. Component B can contain a difunctional polyol containing two OH groups on the molecule. The adhesive is robust and retains desirable properties when used at varying A:B mix ratios better than conventional laminating adhesives used at the same mix ratios.

Robust adhesives for laminating flexible packaging material

The invention relates to a polyurethane adhesive for laminating films. The adhesive contains at least one NCO-reactive polyurethane prepolymer and/or polyisocyanates and a compound having a molecular weight below 2000 g/mol and containing at least one functional group reactive with primary amino group selected from an epoxide groups, (meth)acrylic groups or carboxylic anhydride group. The adhesive is particularly well suited for multilayer films, especially for laminating foodstuffs or medical packaging.

Polyurethane lamination adhesive

The invention relates to the use of a solvent-free, 2 component adhesive for adhering sterilizable composite films, wherein the adhesive comprises a component A made from at least one pre-polymer comprised of NCO groups, said pre-polymer produced from low molecular weight polyether alcohols, polyester alcohols and/or polyalkylene alcohols having a functionality of 2 or 3, implemented having a high molar excess of TDI and removal of the unimplemented monomer diisocyanate, and a component B comprising at least one 2 or 3 functional polyesterpolyol, produced from diols and/or triols on the basis of polyethers or polyalkylene diols implemented having dicarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof, wherein at least 10 to 40 wt % must be comprised of aliphatic Cto Cdicarboxylic acids, and auxiliary and additive materials in at least one component A or B.
