Brake disc

In a process for the manufacture of brake discs, in particular of ventilated brake discs, a top runner is formed in a top box (cope), from which the brake disc is cast approximately centrally. The molten metal is uniformly distributed using star-shaped riser ribs.

Process for the manufacture of brake discs

The brake disk device has a cast brake disk with brake plates and a brake sk carrier connected to the brake disk. The carrier has integral connecting parts which are cast into the brake disk in composite casting. The brake disk carrier can consequently be securely connected to the brake disk during casting. Before the casting of the brake disk, it is fitted together with a mold core, the connecting parts of the brake disk carrier protruding into the mold core. The brake disk device can consequently be produced very simply and inexpensively.

Brake disc device

An internally straddling type disc brake for automotive vehicles is disclosed including a cast brake ring having two spaced apart sectional friction brake rings defining two braking surfaces separated by a plurality of axial ribs defining a plurality of peripheral cooling ducts between the sectional friction rings. At least two peripheral radial connecting elements extend from the ribs centrally between the sectional friction brake rings and are connected to corresponding connecting sections on a brake carrier.
