In order to improve a multispindle lathe comprising a machine frame, a rotatably mounted spindle drum, at least two workpiece spindles arranged in the spindle drum with their workpiece receiving means rotatable about a respective spindle axis, a plurality of spindle stations provided stationarily on the machine frame, into which the workpiece spindles are adapted to be brought, such that removal of workpieces in the workpiece removal station, which can take place very quickly, is possible with simple means, it is proposed that a rotatable workpiece receiving means be allocated to the workpiece removal station, the workpiece receiving means being movable by means of a carrier device relative to the workpiece spindle located in a workpiece removal station between a workpiece take-over position, in which the axis of the workpiece receiving means extends coaxially with the spindle axis of the workpiece spindle located in the workpiece removal station, and a workpiece delivery position, and the workpiece receiving means being movable by means of the carrier device in a Z direction.

Multispindle lathe

In order to improve a lathe, in particular, a multiple-spindle lathe, comprising at least one workpiece spindle arranged on a machine frame and rotatable about a spindle axis, this workpiece spindle projecting with its front end into an operating area, and a tool slide with a longitudinal slide element guided for displacement in Z-direction parallel to the spindle axis in a longitudinal guide means located outside the operating area and arranged on a slide stand of the machine frame and with a cross slide arranged in the operating area and displaceable in X-direction transversely to the spindle axis in relation to the longitudinal slide element, this cross slide being guided on a cross slide guide means arranged at a front end of the longitudinal slide element and movable by means of a cross feed gear, such that the tool slide as a whole is constructed in as space-saving a manner as possible and, in particular, requires little space in the operating area in order to create the possibility of using several tool slides on one workpiece spindle, it is suggested that the longitudinal slide element bear a cross feed motor for the cross feed gear in an area located outside the operating area and that this cross feed motor drive the cross feed gear by means of a rotary transmission element extending in a longitudinal direction of the longitudinal slide element.

Lathe

In order to improve a multiple-spindle turning machine, comprising a machine frame, a cylinder rotatable around an essentially horizontal rotational axis relative to the machine frame, work piece spindles arranged on the cylinder in respective individual positions with spindle axes, which are aligned essentially parallel to the rotational axis and which during the machining of a work piece are movable relative to the cylinder by means of linear drives in the direction of their spindle axis and independently of one another, and tools arranged on tool supports for machining the work pieces held in the work piece spindles, in such a way as to allow the respective work piece spindle to be positioned as precisely as possible in the direction of its spindle axis, it is proposed that each of the work piece spindles is allocated its own linear drive disposed on the cylinder to move it in the direction of the spindle axis, and that the work piece spindle is constantly coupled to the linear drive.

Multiple-spindle turning machine

In order to improve a multiple-spindle turning machine comprising a machine frame, two cylinders arranged on opposite sides of an operating area and mounted on the machine frame to be respectively rotatable around an essentially horizontal rotational axis, machining means arranged on the cylinders in respective individual positions with central axes aligned essentially parallel to the rotational axis, and tools for machining work pieces held in at least one portion of the machining means, in such a way that it may also be used as universally as possible for other work pieces, it is proposed that the cylinders are rotatable around their rotational axis independently of one another relative to the machine frame.
