A ball body is guided in a partially cylindrical hole into which a guide ring is inserted to secure it axially and to guide the pivoting movement. The tripod joint is suitable for the displaceable and pivotable driving connection of two shaft ends, in particular in conjunction with drive trains or side shafts of motor vehicles.

Tripod joint

Tripod joints have a joint outer part and a joint inner part which are in driving connection to each other with cylindrical rolling bodies being connected in between and axial displacement and pivotability being ensured. The longitudinal axes of adjacent rolling bodies are arranged at an acute angle to one another. This may result in an improved mechanical behavior of the tripod joint particularly during pivoting. The tripod joints may be suitable for the displaceable and pivotable driving connection of two shaft ends, in particular in conjunction with drive trains or side shafts of motor vehicles.

A drive train of a motor vehicle includes a power divider, a side shaft, a constant-velocity joint, an intermediate shaft, and a bearing unit. The intermediate shaft has first and second ends. The first end of the intermediate shaft is rotatably connected to the power divider and is mounted in the power divider with a first bearing, and the second end is located opposite the power divider and is connected to the side shaft via the constant-velocity joint. The bearing unit provides further mounting for the intermediate shaft between the first bearing and the constant-velocity joint. The bearing unit has a play oriented radially with respect to the intermediate shaft, and is able to exert a force oriented radially to the intermediate shaft on the intermediate shaft only after the play has been overcome.

A tripod joints includes a joint outer part and a joint inner part. The joint inner part has a tripod star with ball pins, which transmits a drive torque from the joint inner part to the joint outer part via a pressure element and via rolling bodies which are arranged between the joint outer part and a running surface of the pressure element. The running surface of the pressure element is curved in the rolling direction of the rolling bodies. The force may be distributed more uniformly between the rolling bodies when large drive torques are intended to be transmitted. The tripod joint may be suitable for the displaceable and pivotable driving connection of two shaft ends, e.g., in conjunction with drive trains or half shafts of motor vehicles.

A change-speed gearbox has an input shaft connected to an output shaft by at least one first and one second component transmission, arranged parallel to one another in the power flow and each having a frictional power-shift clutch and an intermediate shaft. The intermediate shaft can be operatively connected to the input shaft by the power-shift clutch, with at least one gearbox constant per component transmission. Each gearbox constant has a gearwheel on one of the two intermediate shafts, at least one of which can be operatively connected to a first layshaft arranged parallel to the input shaft. At least one gearbox constant can be brought into an operative connection with the first and the second power-shift clutch.

A starter&mdash;generator system for motor vehicles permits implementation of various starting methods including direct start and impulse start. The system also facilitates additional operating modes, including generator operation and/or recuperation operation. A shift device for the gear change transmission of a motor vehicle has a jib supporting an additional mass pivotably on a housing part. The jib is connected by a link to a shift lever which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a rotatably and axially displaceable selector shaft. The shift lever can be actuated by a manual shift lever via a kinematic connection.

An apparatus for reducing the transmission of vibrations from an engine to a transmission line having two flywheel elements capable of rotation relative to one another, the first element being drivingly connected to the engine and the second element being drivingly connected to the transmission line. The two flywheel elements are connected by a spring mounting and abutments. A first abutment of the spring mounting is frictionally connected with limited rotational capacity to the second flywheel element. The frictional contact between the first abutment and the second flywheel element is smaller than the frictional contact between the second abutment and the first flywheel element.

Apparatus for reducing vehicle drive train vibrations

An apparatus for reducing the transmission of vibrations from an engine to a transmission line having a divided flywheel with first and second flywheel elements is provided by the in which the two flywheels are connected to the engine and transmission line, and are respectively connected by a spring mounting and at least two frictional clutches positioned between the two flywheels. The second frictional clutch has frictional contact smaller than the maximum torque of the engine and relative movements between the flywheel elements are effectively damped when the forces acting between the flywheel elements in these relative movements are weaker than the maximum engine torque, but stronger than a predetermined threshold value.
