A Schiefspiegler telescope with three reflecting surfaces, preferably for observing the earth from space, particularly for imaging radiometers. A novel possibility for realizing a reflector telescope without vignetting which permits a simple construction and a simple adjustment of the reflecting surfaces relative to one another. In a Schiefspiegler telescope with three reflecting surfaces whose mirror axes are arranged within a plane, the primary reflecting surface and tertiary reflecting surface are convex surfaces of identical shape arranged symmetrically with respect to an axis of symmetry. The secondary reflecting surface is arranged symmetric to the primary reflecting surface and tertiary reflecting surface so as to be rotationally symmetric around the axis of symmetry so that all three reflecting surfaces have an axially symmetric mirror arrangement with respect to design in which the optical imaging is transmitted to a receiver in the manner of an off-axis telescope.

An arrangement for the detection of the fluorescence radiation of matrix-shaped specimen carriers with a large number of individual specimens, in particular, for the analysis of chemical and biological specimen carriers is disclosed. The object of the invention, to find a new possibility for detection of fluorescence radiation of matrix-shaped specimen carriers with a large number of individual specimens which permits a highly sensitive quantitative readout of the fluorescence radiation which is characteristically influenced by the individual specimen substances, is met in that, while simultaneously exciting the fluorescence radiation of a large number of substrate pixels, the transmitting optics for transmitting the fluorescence radiation emitted by individual substrate pixels to a multi-element receiver contain an imaging objective by which every substrate pixel is correlated with a determined group of receiver elements of the multi-element receiver and which is outfitted with an additional aperture stop for limiting the angular area of the recorded fluorescence radiation, so that the receiver elements which are correlated respectively with a determined substrate pixel receive substantially no fluorescent light of neighboring substrate pixels, and a darkfield illumination is provided for exciting a large number of substrate pixels with an excitation beam bundle which cuts out the aperture of the objective as well as a substantial angular area surrounding the objective aperture.

Arrangement for the detection of fluorescene radiation of matrix-shaped speciman carriers

An arrangement is disclosed for optically reading out the information from substrates having a multiplicity of individual samples, in particular for analyzing chemical and biological sample carriers. The arrangement presents a new possibility for optically reading out the information from matrix-type substrates having a multiplicity of individual samples which allows a fast read-out of a radiation which is influenced by the individual samples with a high degree of sensitivity. This possibility is achieved by the fact that, in the case of optically reading a matrix-type substrate having a multiplicity of metrically ordered pixels, the receiver that is provided is an individual receiver which has high sensitivity and a uniform receiver area, an electrooptical matrix and also an imaging optical system are present, each substrate pixel being assigned to a matrix pixel region by the imaging optical system, and the matrix can be driven in such a way that matrix regions which allow exclusively the feeding of radiation from a substrate pixel to the receiver can be switched separately. Radiation quantities from in each case at least one substrate pixel successively impinging on the receiver over a suitably chosen time interval. The result is that it is possible to evaluate a series of measured radiation quantities from selected sequences of substrate pixels at the output of the receiver.
